Paula Jai Parker is an American comedian, actress, director, singer and composer, whose ticket to fame was her roles in “Friday,” “Hustle & Flow” and Disney Channel’s “The Proud Family.”

Early Life and Family

Paula Jai Parker was born on 19 August 1969, in Cleveland, Ohio, USA. Her father died when she was three years old – his last words to her as she was sitting on his lap before he went into a coma were to take care of her mother, which she is tried to do. Her mother remarried a rich real estate broker and they lived in Shaker Heights, Ohio, which was where Paula’s life became more interesting. Her stepfather was arrested for double selling properties, and she was almost kidnapped by those that her stepdad scammed, but fortunately her school foiled the plot, and called her parents.

The would-be kidnappers lost interest in her, and turned their attention to the couple; they pistol whipped them and took valuables from their house.

From age five onwards, Paula was molested by her junkie stepbrother, and when she told her mother about it, they decided to leave. They had to sneak out from the house because apparently, her mother was also being abused by his stepfather. Instead of reporting it to the authorities, her mother went to big gang players for help, who were friends of Paula’s father, and settled it their way.

Later on, her stepfather was indicted due to double selling, and was sentenced to federal prison. Instead of being defeated, her mother bought another business selling plastic covers, and was successful, making them wealthy in Cleveland.

Who is Ziv Zaifman on ‘The Greatest Showman’? – Biography

Published

on

Who is Ziv Zaifman?

Ziv Zaifman was born on 7 July 2004, in Clearwater, Florida, USA, and is an actor as well as a singer, best known for his work on the film “The Greatest Showman”. While he didn’t have a role in the film, he provided the singing voice for actor Ellis Rubin, who was portraying a young PT Barnum.

The Riches of Ziv Zaifman

As of early-2020, Ziv Zaifman has a net worth estimated to be over $200,000 earned through a bit of success in the entertainment industry. He’s been involved in a few acting projects, though “The Greatest Showman” remains as his biggest success commercially. As he is still young, time will tell if he will continues in the acting field or pursue another.

Early Life and Career Beginnings

Ziv grew up in Florida, and at a young age demonstrated talent in singing. He loved performing, and aspired to find a career as a film actor, using his talents in singing to help him land roles in musicals or the like.

One of his first acting roles was in an episode of the show “The Blacklist” in 2017; starring James Spader, it follows the story of a criminal who was formerly an officer in the US Navy, and after eluding the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) for many years, he gives himself up to become an informant, convincing them that he’s compiled a blacklist of all the most dangerous criminals in the world, and is willing to give up the information in exchange for immunity.

The show has been acclaimed throughout its run, which made it a great first step for Zaifman, though he only had a small role in one episode.

PT Barnum – A History

Zaifman’s next project would be his most career-defining so far, as the singing voice of Ellis Rubin in “The Greatest Showman”. The show is a biographical film, depicting the life of showman Phineas Taylor Barnum or PT Barnum, who founded the Barnum and Bailey Circus, which for its entire run marketed itself as “The Greatest Show on Earth”, hence the name of the film.

Barnum was a small business owner who discovered a desire to pursue a career in entertainment. He first purchased Scudder’s American Museum which he used as a platform to market various hoaxes such as the Fiji Mermaid, actually a monkey sewn into a fish, making it look like the skeleton of a mermaid. These hoaxes were what he would become known for though – in 1850, he partnered with opera singer Jenny Lind for an American tour spanning 150 nights, for which he paid her an unprecedented $1000 a night for her work. While he suffered numerous setbacks during this period, his museum flourished, expanding and gaining the first aquarium in the US.

The Later Career of PT Barnum

While Barnum’s most enduring and celebrated achievement was his circus, his later career was marked with service in the government, as he became a member of the Connecticut Legislature. He was highly inclined to a change in the US Constitution, opposed to practices of slavery, expressing his Christian beliefs that a soul should not be subject to involuntary servitude. He also fought for causes such as street lighting, prostitution laws, liquor limitations, and better water supply to the state, plus establishing the Bridgeport Hospital in 1878.  Most of these achievements were overshadowed by his traveling circus and museum filled with freaks, as the public would call it.

The Success of The Greatest Showman

The film gained a lot of traction since its announcement, gaining high profile acting talents such as Hugh Jackman, Zendaya, and Zac Efron. The film takes inspiration from Barnum’s museum and his career in entertainment, most notably his work with Lind as well as his circus. The film’s production took most of 2017, with its release scheduled for later in the year. The film had a mixed reception from critics, though it did not stop generally positive acclaim for its music, production, and acting performances. Hugh Jackman gained numerous nominations for his work, and the music of the film gained numerous nominations, with the song “This Is Me” winning a Golden Globe Award for Best Original Song.

While its soundtrack gained a lot of attention, it was also noted that several actors didn’t sing their respective songs. Zendaya, Hugh and Zac performed their songs, while Loren Allred provided the voice for actress Rebecca Ferguson, who portrayed the Swedish Nightingale Jenny Lind. Ziv also sang, and can be heard on the track “A Million Dreams”. The film was successful commercially, becoming the third highest-grossing musical in the US, earning a total of $435 million worldwide, as opposed to its $84 million budget.

Recent Work and Personal Life

Since the success of “The Greatest Showman”, Zaifman has had one other film project, a follow-up from his work in the previous film, cast in the 2018 independent film “To Dust”, which starred Matthew Broderick and Geza Rohrig.

The film premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival, and tells the story of a Jewish man who tries to move forward after losing his wife to cancer. He then finds an unusual partnership with a rabbi and a biology professor.

Following his work there, things have been quiet for Ziv in the last few years. The speculation is that he is continuing his education, and may eventually take more acting opportunities as thery comes. However, there is also a possibility that he may not follow through with his initial acting work, as is the case for several child actors.

Ziv is young and single, not likely focused on finding any long term relationship as he is still focused on education. He’s also just begun in his career in the entertainment industry, which may leave him little in terms of time for a girlfriend. Not a lot of information has been revealed about him, apart from his love for singing and acting.

Naked Truth Of Kathleen Kinmont – Where is she today? Wiki

Published

on

Kathleen Kinmont is an American actress and author, who became known through her roles in action and horror movies, as well as her work on the popular television series in the 1990’s, “The Renegade,” with her former husband, actor Lorenzo Lamas.

Early Life and Education

Kathleen Kinmont was born on 3 February 1965, in Los Angeles, California, USA, to parents Jack Smith, an electrical parts distributor, and Abby Dalton, an actress. She and her two brothers were raised in Toluca Lake in the San Fernando Valley, just 12 miles away from downtown Los Angeles.

Education

There is little information about her early years including her educational attainment, except that she matriculated from Our Lady of Corvallis High School, a Catholic school in Studio City, California in 1982.

Career

First Steps

In 1965, Kathleen debuted in the world of television when she was still a baby, along with her older brother, in the last season of “The Joey Bishop Show,” in which her mom was a series regular. By the time she finished high school, she had a brief modeling career and decided to pursue an acting career just like her mother. She debuted with a minor role in the movie called “Hardbodies,” a sex comedy released in 1984. One would think she would have it easy due to her mother’s connections, but she struggled through a few years, accepting minor roles. She even took part in movies that sometimes wouldn’t be released in theaters, but direct to video, such as “Nightforce” and “Winner Take All.”

Her hard work paid off in 1988, when she was given a major role in “She-Wolves of the Wasteland,” also known as “Phoenix the Warrior.” She played the titular role of Phoenix with Peggy McIntaggart and Persis Khambatta, in which they battle for the last man on Earth during the post-apocalyptic era. It was followed in the same year by the horror movie “Halloween 4: The Return of Michael Myers,” which was a commercial success.

Further Success

The following year she did an action movie, “Snake Eater II: The Drug Buster,” with Lorenzo Lamas, and the comedy-horror movie “Bride of Re-Animator,” and continued to make movies mostly in the action and horror-slasher genres.

A couple of them were with her husband Lorenzo Lamas, including “CIA Code Name: Alexa” and its sequel “CIA II: Target Alexa,” which were released in 1992 and 1993, respectively.

Their working relationship was successful, so that Lorenzo made her a regular in his television series “The Renegade,” which aired from September of 1992 up to April of 1997. She played the role of Cheyenne Phillips, who was part of the bounty hunter crew headed by Lorenzo’s character. While the series ran for five seasons, Kathleen was only part of the series until the fourth season – the official reason was that due to the separation of the couple, working together grew uncomfortable, not only for them but to the rest of the production crew as well.

Kathleen also made numerous guest appearances, playing supporting roles in several TV series including favorite daytime series “Dallas” (1991), “Santa Barbara” (1992), and “Days of Our Lives” (2002). She was also seen in the popular lifeguard drama series, “Baywatch,” in 1994, and had the recurring role as Charlene Ballard in “Silk Stalkings” from 1997 to 1999. She was also part of Tom Hanks’ directorial debut, “That Thing You Do,” in 1996.

In the 2000’s, she was into making movies made for television, and also short movies; nothing significant that would make headlines, but her work as supporting cast was continuous.

She also tried her hand in screenwriting for TV and movies, including for the short movie “Mrs. Sweeney,” and for the TV movie “BFF Ent Variety Comedy,” which she also co-produced, both released in 2013. Kathleen also wrote, co-produced and directed the pilot episode for “Fame Game” in 2014.

When web series became a new medium for entertainment, she accepted a recurring role in “Zoe Valentine” with Anna Cathcart, appearing in four episodes in 2019. She was also seen as a series regular in the TV series “Phoenix,” a sci-fi thriller aired in 2019 over at Amazon Prime Video.

This 2020, before the Covid19 pandemic happened, she was announced to be a part of the movie “The Whack Job,” with Richard Norton.

Personal Life

Kathleen is currently single, living in Los Angeles with her daughter, Ayden Grace, and a dog named Bolt. She was previously married and divorced three times.

First Husband – Lorenzo Lamas

Her first husband was actor Lorenzo Lamas, whom she met through her mother when she was still a senior in high school. Abby was filming Falcon Crest with Lorenzo when he saw a picture of Kathleen in a swimsuit, and begged for an introduction. He was 25 and just divorced when they started to date. It didn’t work out as Lorenzo was a flirtatious ladies man who made a pass on one of her girlfriends during Kathleen’s 18th birthday, and during one Falcon Crest press tour Lorenzo had his publicist pregnant, whom he married before the birth of his son.

After a couple of years Lorenzo separated from his wife, and Kathleen started dating him again but he decided to reconcile with his estranged wife for his son’s sake, and Kathleen started dating other men. Lorenzo divorced his wife and tried winning Kathleen back, but she declined as she was engaged to another actor at that time. When they met again in 1987, he was engaged to another actress, but they made a vow that they wouldn’t marry anyone. Later that year, she broke off her engagement and reached out to Lorenzo, only to find out that he’d married his fiancée. After a while, he divorced his second wife and went back to Kathleen.

This time he approached her parents and told them he couldn’t live without her, and on 25 January 1989, they were married at Graceland Chapel in Las Vegas with his children as best man and maid of honor. It was great for a time, but they filed for divorce after five years of marriage.

Second Husband – Jere Burns

In 1997 she married actor Jere Eugene Burns, who is best known for his villainous roles in the television series “Justified” and “Burn Notice.” The marriage lasted for about three years – they were divorced by 1999.

Third Husband – Doug Swander

She took the plunge again and married Doug Swander in 2006. There is no information about her third husband and about their marriage, but they divorced in 2011, since when she’s been officially single.

Interesting Facts

  • She wrote an illustrated book for children entitled “Magic and Beauty”, published on 4 November 2019 with April Ballantine providing the illustrations.
  • Among her three husbands, she remained close friends with Lorenzo Lamas and she would post about him on her Instagram account.
  • She has a penchant for getting engaged, as she’s said yes too many times to several marriage proposals from various men when she was younger, only to break them off after a few months. She claimed to be in love with love.
  • The real reason she was booted out from “The Renegade” was not solely because they were uncomfortable working as a former couple, but Kathleen said many bad things to the media about Lorenzo’s new girlfriend. Apparently, the new girl made a guest appearance in the TV series, and she didn’t like it.

Appearance

She stands 5ft 10ins. (1.78m) tall and weighs around 132lbs (60kgs). She maintains a fit body due to her love of Yoga and Meditation. She is Caucasian with blonde hair and blue eyes.

Net worth

Authoritative sources estimated Kathleen’s net worth to be over $3 million, as of June 2020.
