Who is Kekoa Kekumano?

Kekoa Kekumano is a young Hawaiian-born actor, who is perhaps, most widely known for starring as the younger version of the title character in the 2018 Warner Bros. blockbuster movie about the DC’s comic book character and the Justice League member – “Aquaman”.

Early Life and Bio

Kekoa Kekumano was born under the zodiac sign of Gemini on the 16th June 1998, in the Hawaiian town of Mililani.

There are no any other available yet relevant details regarding Kekoa’s early life, family members and background, or his education.

Acting Career

As an actor, young Kekoa debuted at the age 16, when in 2015 he landed the recurring role of Hanele Huikala in the popular Golden Globe-nominated CBS TV’s action, crime drama series “Hawaii Five-0”. The plot follows the story of a small task force named Five-0 on their everyday adventures, staring Alex O’Loughlin, Scott Caan, Daniel Dae Kim and Grace Park as the main cast members.

Kekoa first appeared in the fifth season of the show, in an episode entitled “Poina ‘ole”, as a homeless delinquent who stole O’Loughlin’s character’s precious 1974 Mercury Marquis Brougham. After getting a second chance, landing a job and returning on the right track, the two characters create a strong ‘younger-older brother-like’ bond. Kekoa occasionally reprised this recurring role in the course of the next three years, appearing in the total of 13 episodes through the show’s four seasons.

In 2016, young Kekumano appeared in the romantic comedy film “A Midsummer’s Hawaiian Dream”, while in 2017 he briefly appeared in an episode of the TV action Sci-Fi adventure series “Inhumans”. In 2018 he starred in the major role of Micah Kumu in the short movie entitled “Hae Hawai’i”, while the big breakthrough in Kekumano‘s acting career occurred later in 2018, when he was cast to portray the teenage version of Aquaman.

He appeared as the 16-year-old Arthur Curry, later portrayed by Jason Momoa – a half-human, half-Atlantean demigod, with abilities to rule tides and communicate with sea creatures and the heir of the throne of the undersea nation of the Atlantis. On the set of this blockbuster movie, which grossed over $1.1 billion in total, Kekoa had the chance to act alongside several of the most famous movie stars, such as Willem Dafoe, Dolph Lundgren, Amber Heard and Nicole Kidman.

Personal Life

Despite his popularity, Kekoa keeps both feet on the ground and keeps his private life far from the mass media’s attention, so there aren’t too many details about his personal life, or previous romantic connections.

He is an avid surfer and a dancer, and he also performs for the largest, longest-running and authentic Polynesian entertainment company in Hawaii – Tihati Productions. Additionally, he is engaged as an Ocean Safety Officer within the City and County of Honolulu, Hawaii.

Since late 2018 he is in a relationship with Moani Dolan.
