Bryan Quang Le was born in Las Vegas, Nevada USA on 19 November 1996 – his zodiac sign is Scorpio, his ethnicity is Asian and he holds American nationality. Childhood and education
Ricegum was raised in Las Vegas by his Chinese mother and his Vietnamese father, both of whom came to the US less than a decade before he was born.
Ricegum studied at Sierra Vista High School, at which he became interested in basketball and played for the school’s team – he is said to have been one of the most promising basketball players. He was also interested in various other things, including acting and playing video games, and upon matriculation in 2014, he enrolled at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, but quit while still attending his freshman year to pursue a career on the internet.
Career as a YouTuber and rapper
Ricegum had launched his YouTube channel on 25 September 2012, and it now numbers more than 10.5 million subscribers, as well as 2.1 billion views of all his videos combined.
Two of his most popular videos are “RiceGum – Its EveryNight Sis feat. Alissa Violet (Official Music Video)” as it has been watched more than 190 million times since 11 June 2017, and “RiceGum – God Church ( Official Music Video )” viewed more than 73 million times since 24 July 2017. His channel is the 55th most subscribed to on YouTube.
Ricegum is quite popular on various social media networks. His Instagram account numbers four million followers, while he has uploaded close to 100 pictures, most of which have been taken during his everyday life.
He has been active on Twitter since October 2012, and has gathered around 2.8 million followers, although he hasn’t tweeted since 24 May 2020. Ricegum’s Facebook page numbers over 760,000 fans, and he is also popular on TikTok, as he is followed by close to 900,000 people, and has accumulated nearly seven million ‘likes’ of all his pictures and videos combined.
He launched his musical career in 2017, with the release of his single “It’s Every Night Sis”, which featured Alissa Violet, a YouTuber – the song was a response to the song “It’s Everyday Bro” by Jake Paul, an American YouTuber, actor and social media personality.
It was a hit, peaking at #55 on the Canadian Hot 100 Chart, and #80 on the Billboard Hot 100 Chart, so in March 2018 it was certified platinum.
Ricegum released his second single “God Church” In July 2017, which topped the Comedy Digital Track Sales Chart. In the following month, he was featured in the music video “Earthquake” by KSI, a rapper and YouTuber, but the video was removed after KSI and Ricegum had a falling out. One of his most popular diss tracks, “Frick da Police” came out in October 2017, and was aimed at YouTuber and comedian IDubbbz– it peaked at #45 on the Hot R&B/Hop-Hop Songs Chart and #67 on the Canadian Hot 100 Chart.
Ricegum released his Christmas single “Naughty or Nice” in December 2017, and two more new songs, “Bitcoin” and “Fortnite n Chill”, followed in February and April 2018, respectively. He has released three new songs in 2020: “DaAdult”, “My Ex” and “Contract Money Freestyle” in April, May and June.
Controversy
In June 2018, Ricegum uploaded a video onto his YouTube channel which featured him spending time in Hong Kong and asking people at restaurants and at McDonald’s whether they offered dog and cat meat. He filmed the comedian M2THAK approach a man at Hong Kong International Airport telling him ‘Do you understand the words that are coming out of my mouth?’
The video was considered to be culturally insensitive and disrespectful, and was removed from YouTube for violating its terms of usage – Ricegum has apologized for his behavior, but most people don’t believe he was sincere.
Love life and girlfriend
Ricegum was previously in a relationship with Abby Rao, a model and Instagram star who is followed by more than 2.3 million people on the network. In May 2019, Abby caught Ricegum facetiming with the model Mia Francis and most people believe this to be one of the reasons behind their later split. Before Abby, Ricegum was allegedly in a relationship with Sommer Ray, one of the most popular models on Instagram, whose account is followed by around 25.5 million people.
Just recently in July 2020, Ricegum started dating Ellerie Marie who has just turned 18 – she is a social media star and a model, who has gained recognition for her big breasts. Ellerie is followed by more than 400,000 people on Instagram.
As of December 2020, Ricegum is dating Ellerie Marie, hasn’t married and doesn’t have children.
Hobbies and other interests
Ricegum is a huge fan of football, and watches numerous games on TV, while he also had an opportunity to be at Game 7 Super Bowl in December 2020. He likes to play and watch many other sports, including baseball and basketball, while he is also keen on playing soccer and pool.
Ricegum is physically quite active, as he has three to four training sessions at the gym each week – he is also following a strict diet meaning he avoids sugar, and instead eats lots of fruits (natural sugar) and vegetables.
He is keen on travelling, and has been all around the US visiting many states, while Ricegum has also been to Europe and Asia on several occasions – his dream travel destination is Tokyo in Japan.
In his spare time he likes to watch comedy films, and his favorite actors are Leslie Nielsen, Jim Carrey and Chris Rock, while his favorite movies are “Airplane!”, “The Naked Gun” and “Liar Liar”.
