Sosie Ruth Bacon was born in Los Angeles, California USA, on 15 March 1992 – her zodiac sign is Pisces and she holds American nationality. Sosie is an actress, perhaps best known for her portrayal of Skye Miller in the teen drama web series “13 Reasons Why”, which starred Dylan Minnette, Katherine Langford and Christian Navarro, and is about a teenager who is trying to find out why his crush committed suicide. The series was a success, as it won three awards and was nominated for 14 others, including a Golden Globe for Katherine for Best Performance by an Actress in a Television Series – Drama.

Sosie was raised alongside her brother, Travis in Los Angeles, by their parents, mother Kyra Sedgwick who is a famous American actress, producer and director, perhaps still best known for her roles in the drama film “Miss Rose White” and the police procedural series “The Closer”. Their father Kevin Bacon is also a famous actor known for his roles in the drama movie “Footloose” and the historical conspiracy legal thriller film “JFK”.

Although born into a rather wealthy family, Sosie had a normal childhood, and as her mother was away shooting her movies and TV series most of the time, she became very close to her father and brother who took care of her.

Her parents didn’t want her to become an actress but Sosie nevertheless started acting at high school where she was a member of the school’s drama club. Upon matriculation in 2010, she didn’t enroll at a college but rather decided to focus on a career as an actress.

Roles in movies

Sosie made her debut film appearance in 2005 when she portrayed Emily Stoli in the drama “Loverboy”, which starred Patrick Dempsey, Kate Jackson and Robert Ginty, and is about a college student who starts working as a pizza delivery man. Her next role in a movie came nine years later in 2014, when she was invited to portray Frances Funicello in the coming of age comedy film “Wishin’ and Hopin’” which starred Molly Ringwald and Chevy Chase, and which is closely based on the eponymous novel written by Wally Lamb.

Sosie made her debut TV series appearance in 2009, when she portrayed Charlie Johnson in four episodes of the police procedural series “The Closer”, which starred her mother Kyra and is about Brenda Johnson who is working in the Los Angeles Police Department as the Deputy Police Chief. The series was a big success. winning 11 awards including a Golden Globe, while it was nominated for 72 others.

In 2014, Sosie was cast as the lead character in the comedy series “Basic Witches”, but the pilot episode wasn’t picked up by any network, but she went on to play Rachel Murray in five episodes of the anthology slasher series “Scream”.

Her next notable performance was in the drama series “Here and Now” in 2018, portraying the lead character Kristen in all 10 episodes, while the series also starred Tim Robbins, Holly Hunter and Daniel Zovatto, and follows a family of six living in Portland, USA – it won Daniel Zovatto a nomination for an Imagen Foundation Award for Best Supporting Actor – Television. Her latest role has been in the 2020 crime drama web series “Narcos: Mexico”, in which she portrayed the supporting character Mimi Webb Miller.

Sosie has recently been cast to portray the lead character Carrie Layden in the upcoming series “Mare of Easttown”, set to be released in the second half of 2020.

Sosie has been keeping the details of her love life hidden from the media’s curiosity, but it’s believed that she was in a two-year long relationship with a mysterious man from 2016 to 2018. The rumors started after she uploaded a picture of them together onto her Instagram account, and it was revealed that the man was on Instagram under the username ‘dobbyisland’. In 2018, Sosie deleted the pictures which featured the two together, and the ‘dobbyisland’ account on Instagram ceased to exist.

There are also rumors circulating the internet that the popular actress is lesbian or bisexual, as she hasn’t talked openly about any men she might have been with and several of her fans have stated to have seen Sosie being rather too close to a woman at a club in Los Angeles.

Sosie likes to travel and while she was a teenager, her parents would often allow her to travel with them when they were shooting for their movies and TV series. She is a lover of animals and has a pet dog, while her favorite animals are turtles, and some of her favorite hobbies are reading romantic books, listening to pop music, and daydreaming.

She is physically active as she has several training sessions at the gym each week, and is trying to follows a strict diet, which apparently she isn’t very good at.

In her spare time, Sosie enjoys watching movies, and her favorite actor and actress are Tom Cruise and Anne Hathaway, while two of her favorite movies are “The Last Samurai” and “Les Miserables”.
