He attended Eleanor Roosevelt High School where he ,was physically active playing soccer and football while he was also one of the best students. Upon matriculation, he enrolled at St. Lawrence University in Canton, New York, graduating with a bachelor’s degree in 2001.
Thomas’ career
Upon graduation he started working at a local tech company, while pursuing his career as a professional ski racer. The highlight of his career was in 2002 when he competed in the international competition Super-G at the Winter Olympics, finishing ninth. His now ex-wife Lindsey whom he was teaching how to ski, won gold at 2010 Winter Olympics held in Vancouver.
In 2015, Thomas started coaching Dean Travers, a Caymanian alpine ski racer, best known for competing in the Super-G in Beaver Creek at the World Championships.
Love life and relationships
Thomas and Lindsey met at the Salt Lake City Olympic Games in 2002 – Lindsey was 16 at the time while Thomas was 25. As she worked on her skiing career, Thomas helped organize her interviews, gave her tips and advice so that she could entirely focus on skiing. They started dating three years later in 2005, and married on 29 September 2007 in Deer Valley, Utah at the Silver Lake Lodge. Lindsey went on to win the World Cup Championship in 2008, 2009 and 2010, but the two filed for divorce a year later in November 2011, finalized on 9 January 2013.
They don’t have any children together. Lindsey spoke to “Daily Mail” after the divorce, and stated how their marriage was not easy and how it lacked happiness. Thomas is a family man who enjoys spending his free time with his partner Shauna and their son Henrik. She made her Olympic debut when she was 17, competing at the 2002 Winter Olympics, and the following year saw her win a silver medal at the Junior World Championships held at Puy Saint-Vincent in France. She also won silver at the 2004 USA Alpine Championship held at Mt. Alyeska Resort in Alaska. She suffered an injury while competing in Italy, and was evacuated by a helicopter and taken to the nearest hospital, and although she was advised not to continue competing, she came back to the slope two days later and finished eighth.
In 2008 she won a gold medal at the World Cup, which was followed by her wins in 2009, 2010, and 2012. She continued to race until retiring in 2019.
She met Tiger Woods, a famous golfer, in 2012 and they began dating in March 2013, but split after two years. She started dating Kenan Smith, an National Football League (NFL) assistant coach in 2016, but the two split after a year. In the summer of 2018, she started dating P.K. Subban and they became engaged on 23 August 2019 – it was Lindsey who proposed to Subban.
