Lauren Kitt is a fitness trainer, cosmetology enthusiast and the wife of Nick Carter, the singer from the Backstreet Boys band, who is also developing his solo career. The couple share two children, and have helped each other to overcome such life difficulties as alcohol and drug addictions, suicide attempts, etc.
Early life and family
Lauren Michelle Kitt was born on 3 June 1983, in Los Angeles, California USA, so she holds American nationality, and her zodiac sign is Gemini. Her parents are Robin and Larry Kitt – Lauren knows that her mother was adopted, but that her biological parents were of Irish descent; her father is half-Mexican and half-Native American. Lauren has a younger sister, Alexandra, and a younger brother, Danny.
Lauren had a very traditional childhood; all men on her fatherâs side were tradesmen, so they left for work early in the morning and came back tired, hungry and sometimes angry and late at night.
She stayed at home with her mother, who didnât work away but took care of the kids, cooked and cleaned the house, which Lauren helped her with. She remembers that her father was very strict; she didnât even know that such a band as the Backstreet Boys existed, as she didnât even watch MTV – it was forbidden in her house. When Lauren was nine years old, her parents divorced. She also called the relationship between her and her mother to be âtumultuousâ, as her mom gave birth to her at the age of 18, and wanted to have social life behind her motherhood. Lauren felt the tension between them and used any opportunity to sneak out of the house when she stayed at her motherâs place.

Lauren matriculated from her local high school in 2001, saying that it was a tough experience for her: âI wasnât focused on school. I rebelled against my parents and looking back I wish I wouldâve listened to the adults in my life and stayed in schoolâ. Lauren skipped a lot of classes, choosing to spend the time hanging out with her friends, partying, etc. There is no information on Laurenâs further education, yet it is known that she later gained certification as a personal fitness trainer.

Fitness career
When she was 21 years old, Lauren moved to Tokyo, Japan, and lived there for three years. Then she moved to Paris, trying herself as a model, however, she soon returned to the US, and started developing her social media career as an online fitness trainer, posting fitness videos and workout tutorials.
Her YouTube channel âKitt Fitâ was launched in 2013; her then-fiancĂŠ Nick Carter also appeared in the welcoming video on the channel, announcing that he was going to share his own tips on how to stay fit. However, the channel was not much of a success, and after posting around 30 Lauren stopped uploading new videos in 2015, having attracted only 5,000 subscribers to her channel.
Acting career
In 2011 Lauren tried herself as an actress and producer. She worked on a short movie – âThe Pendantâ – and then co-produced Nick Carterâs music videos âBurning Upâ (featuring Britton âBriddyâ Shaw) and âJust One Kissâ.
In 2013 she appeared as Boot Camp Instructor in the episode âThe Snooze Testâ of the series âOne Life to Liveâ, and then in one of the scenes in the thriller âDecommissionedâ (2016), before landing the role of Sirene in âDead 7â, sharing the screen with other singers from the Backstreet Boys, including her husband Nick Carter, AJ McLean, Howie Dorough, and others.
In 2014 VH1 launched the reality show âI Heart Nick Carterâ, which told the story of Nick and Laurenâs relationship, the culmination of which was their wedding ceremony; the series is also uploaded onto YouTube.
Founding ProDerm Aesthetics
Lauren co-founded ProDerm Aesthetics along with Dr. William J. Schweitzer as the base of ProDerm Image cosmetic and regenerative dermatology clinic – Lauren promotes their customized skin care procedures and products.

Personal life, husband Nick Carter
Lauren and Nick met when she was 25 and he was 28 years old, with the help of Nickâs sister, Angel, and his brother, Aaron. They knew Lauren and decided that the two would match-up, so they called Lauren to one of their parties. Nick and Lauren instantly found dozens of topics to discuss, and spent around three hours talking on the balcony and watching shooting stars. Nick later admitted that meeting Lauren helped him considerably in his battle with depression, anxiety, and the dangerous methods he tried to fight them with: âWhen I first met Lauren, I was in a place where I wanted to stop completely any drinking and drugsâ, Nick recalls his meeting his future wife.
He also shared that it was the time when he was diagnosed with cardiomyopathy â physical heart problems – so Lauren helped him to stay sober, to eat and drink healthily, to focus on changing his life for the better. She also helped him to start working out properly and consistently. âI felt like I could be accountable to her and we could hide within one another. I just felt protected and that was important <…> This is the person that I want to spend my life with and I feel safe with herâ, Nick shared in his reality TV series âI Heart Nick Carterâ.
Lauren and Nick became engaged in 2013, and married on 12 April 2014. Lauren gave birth to their first son, Odin Reign Carter, on 19 April 2016. It is known that she had a miscarriage in 2015, and another one in September 2018 when she was pregnant for three months with their second child, who was supposed to be a daughter.
On 2 October 2019 Lauren had a C-section, giving birth to a girl, Saoirse Reign Carter. She shared a video on her arriving to the hospital and preparing for the surgery on her Instagram account. Lauren often shares photos of her children on her social media profiles.

Laurenâs husband was born Nickolas Gene Carter on 28 January 1980, in Jamestown, New York State USA. Having a tough childhood with his parents fighting, and divorcing when he was around nine years old, Nick always dreamt of a better life, and wanted to become a singer.
