Genevieve Gallen has a nice career behind her. She has been a Playboy model, a theatre actress, and is currently living and working as a yoga teacher. However, not one of those things helped her reach popularity until she tied the knot with a guy famous for his short stature – Hollywood actor Verne Troyer. Who is Genevieve Gallen and how did this couple meet?
Early life and Education
Genevieve Gallen was born on 20 December 1972 in Detroit, Michigan USA. Nothing is known of the parents that raised her, but she finished her high school in Mensa School of Geniuses.
Some years later, she graduated from the Center for Creative Studies College of Art and Design, with a degree in the field of Graphic Design and Illustration Fashion. Her education continued in San Francisco, California, where she went to the Iyengar Yoga Institute, and studied prayanama, Iyengar Yoga, physiology and anatomy. She also spent some time studying music – primarily classical piano and jazz.
Career
Gallen is a “jack of all trades”, as her interests and professional paths are many.
Before she turned to freelance modelling, she worked as a waitress, and also at Active Real Estate as a secretary. She also spent some time working as a store manager in companies in Detroit, and even had a brief career as a theater performer at the Detroit Institute of Arts! She had a successful modelling career, and even appeared on the cover of “Playboy” several times, which in the end lead to her meeting her future husband. After her modelling career was over, she became a fashion designer, but soon settled as a yoga instructor.
Marriage with Verne Troyer
Gallen and Verne Troyer (1969 – 2018) met in 2002 at a New Year’s Eve party in Hugh Hefner’s Playboy Mansion in Los Angeles, California. Shortly afterwards Verne invited her to a romantic dinner in a luxurious Four Seasons Hotel. This was the start of their romance and two years later the couple apparently wed in a private ceremony in January of 2004 – Gallen quickly replaced a lot of her furniture so they could fit Verne’s height in order to help her new husband get by in her apartment. However, they filed for divorce the very next day, and finally separated later that year.
They never had any children together, and their short-lived marriage sparked a lot of controversy. Troyer was an actor famous for his short stature of only 2 feet 8 inches (0.81 meters). He suffered from cartilage-hair hypoplasia, a genetic disorder which is characterized by small growth and often times lack of hair. He appeared in movies such as “Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone”.
Gallen has a number of times accused Troyer of being violent, claiming that he even threw a vodka bottle at her once, which broke on her head and gave her minor injuries.
She also said that Troyer was an alcoholic, but that on rare occasions when he was sober he was actually really nice and kind, which is the reason why she remained with him for so long. In her interview from 2009 she had talked about how Troyer is a sex addict, and how they had sex up to 10 times a day. In the same article she also mentioned how he never minded the attention he got from other girls. In her own words, ‘Girls would come and just throw themselves at Verne. I would get pushed out of the way. Because he is such a gentle and sweet person, Verne didn’t understand that a line has to be drawn.’
On the other hand, Verne accused her of lying, and said that she only wanted to profit from the divorce – a statement supported by his attorney. This made many question Gallen’s initial decision to marry, and made a large section of the media turn their support over to Troyer.
After marriage with Gallen, Troyer had a lot of other relationships, all equally controversial. His ex-girlfriend Ranae Shrider leaked their sex tape in 2008 and he pressed charges, while also accusing her of an attempted murder. He was also in a short relationship with Dominique Arganes, a famous model from Canada.

Sadly, Verne Troyer passed away on 21st April 2018, apparently from alcohol poisoning and later ruled as suicide by the coroner. At the time of his passing, he was in a relationship with German-American actress Brittney Powell.
Personal Life
Gallen is active on her Instagram profile, on which she promotes a raw organic vegan lifestyle, but she only has around 300 followers as of March 2020. However not much is known about what she does in her free time. She also tried herself at a music and acting career, but hasn’t made any big achievements.
Ever since her divorce, she hasn’t been known to be in any relationship, notable or not – which is not too surprising as she decided to turn away from the Hollywood spotlight. She doesn’t have any children. She is currently still living in Los Angeles, California.
Net worth
Gallen earned a significant amount of wealth from her modelling career, and despite not being an active model any more, she still has significant income from being a yoga instructor. She is also seen promoting several vegan brands on her Instagram profile, including Kat Von D Beauty, Too Faced Cosmetics, Simply Organic and Suja Organic, which earn her a decent sum as well.
