Jimmy’s Acting Career

Jimmy’s career began in 1991, when at the age of 11 he was cast for the role of Pugsley in Barry Sonnenfeld’s black comedy fantasy movie “The Addams Family”. He starred as the ‘devious, young, brilliant boy’ – the son and the oldest child of Morticia and Gomez Addams. The plot is based on Charles Addam’s cartoons and the eponymous black-and-white TV series from the 1960s, and follows the adventures of an unusual family with supernatural abilities, ‘macabre interest’ and with a ‘culture clash with the rest of the world’.

The film was a genuine commercial success, grossing over $190 million at the box office, and earning nominations for BAFTA Award, Golden Globe as well as an Oscar. Certainly, these accomplishments helped young Jimmy to thrive in his career.

Later that year he appeared in M.C. Hammer’s music video “Addams Groove”, which served as the movie’s theme song, after which he made his small screen debut in an episode of the TV series “Jake and the Fatman”. In 1997, he briefly appeared alongside Helen Hung and Jack Nicholson in the two-time Oscar-winning comedy drama movie “As Good as It Gets”.

After a five-year-long hiatus, in 2002 Workman appeared in the critically booed film “The Biggest Fan”, while his last acting engagement occurred in 2004, when he starred in the ‘mockumentary’ movie “To Kill a Mockumentary”.

Personal Life

After retiring from acting and ending appearing in front of the cameras, Jimmy began his behind-the-camera career as a member of the technical department. Additionally, he is involved within the trade union representing moviemaking industry’s workers, named Teamsters Local 399.

Family’s legal issues

In November 2012, the court granted custody of then 15 year old Ariel to her elder sister Shanelle, after alleged accusations that their mother acted abusively towards Winter.

In August 2013, Jimmy petitioned on behalf of their mother, asking for Ariel’s custody, stating that Shanelle is a poor role model and is exploiting young Winter to promote herself, using her “Modern Family” earnings to maintain her own lavish lifestyle. A year later, it was settled that Shannele retains temporary custody over Ariel ’til she is 18, with their father monitoring Ariel’s finances.

Net Worth

Authoritative sources have estimated that the total of Jimmy Workman’s net worth as of mid-2020 revolves around the sum of $500,000. It has been primarily acquired through his over-a-decade-long on-camera acting career between 1991 and 2004, and his subsequent technical film work.
