Early Life and Career Beginnings

While Damon was born in Bloomington, his family later moved to Boulder, Colorado where he would spend most of his youth. At a young age, he showed a strong inclination towards athletic activities, and while in high school, he played a few sports, rugby and football in particular.

As the years passed, he came to find a passion for arts and the performing arts. He loved drawing, and he also began frequenting the Denver Center for the Performing Arts (DCPA), known for holding numerous productions within a year, mainly within the Denver Performing Arts Complex which can seat 10,000 people.

He discovered a profound love for acting when he joined the organization, and became a part of a production of “A Christmas Carol”. Wanting to pursue either working as a cartoonist or actor, Damon moved to Los Angeles after the completion of his education. He had hoped to find an opportunity there as a cartoonist but as it became clear that it wasn’t going to happen for him, he turned his attention fully to acting.

Rise to Fame

In 2009 Damon had his first minor role on television, appearing in the television series “90210”. The opportunity opened more doors for him, as he was seen in shows such as “Lincoln Heights”, “Greek” and “True Blood”.

Grey Damon

In 2010, he had his first notable role, being cast as Hastings Ruckle for the television series “Friday Night Lights”. The show is based on the 2004 film of the same name, an adaption of the 1990 non-fiction book of the same name by H.G. Bissinger, telling the story of a high school football team which goes through the ups and downs in search of their desired victory at a grander stage. The show tackles numerous issues apart from football, including drugs, racism, American culture, and many more. It proved highly successful, becoming a critical success and winning numerous awards during its run over five years.

Damon was only a part of the show for one season, as he began working on another series – “The Nine Lives of Chloe King”. The show which aired on ABC follows the story of the titular character who discovers that she is a descendent of an ancient Egyptian god.
