Introduction

If someone told you several years ago that a person could become famous thanks to lip-syncing videos on the internet, you’d probably think they are crazy. And then came Loren Gray. Her beautiful, blue eyes and charismatic personality made her loved on social media by many at a very young age. But who really is the person behind those perfect pictures?

Early life

Loren Gray Beech was born on 19 April 2002, in Pottstown, Pennsylvania USA, to a hairstylist mom and a biologist dad. Little is known about her younger years except that she is homeschooled.

She joined Twitter in March 2013, and in the next year she signed up to YouNow. When Musical.ly was activated in 2015, she was amongst the first people to launch an account, and that set off circumstances had quickly helped her achieve online fame.

Career

Gray joined Musical.ly while in 6th grade, and soon gained a big following. Her “girl-next-door” reputation also made her popular on Instagram. Her new earnings helped her move to Los Angeles, California so she could pursue further (and someone would argue, more serious) her career. In 2016 Gray was nominated for Choice Muser at the Teen Choice Awards.

She made her first music video appearance in 2017, when she worked for English pop singer HRVY on his song “Personal”. Later that year she was part of a lineup for the 2017 Spring DigiTour, alongside Tyler Brown, Nathan Triska, HRVY and Blake Gray. In August of next year she released her debut single, “My Story” under the record label Virgin Records that she signed a deal with in March. Her first single is based on a friend of hers who ‘kept falling in love with the wrong people.’ That same year, she was once again nominated for Choice Muser, and in November released her second single, “Kick You Out”.

This song was produced by Ido Zmishlany, American record producer who worked for artists such as Demi Lovato, Imagine Dragons and The All-American Rejects.

By the end of that year, she had released her third single, “Queen” as well, and the music video for the song came out at the beginning of 2019, gaining over 12 million views as of February 2020. In January 2019 she was featured on Lost King’s single called “Anti-Everything”, and the same month she earned nominations for the Social Star Award at the 2019 iHeart Radio Music Awards.

In April of that same year she teamed with Nija and Ivy Adara, and released two more songs, “Lie Like That” and “Options”, both produced by Captain Cuts, and in August a song with American rapper Saweetie.

As of March 2020, her latest appearance is in Taylor Swift’s music video for “The Man”. Grey was nominated for VMAs, People’s Choice Awards and the Teen Choice Awards. She was also in Seventeen Magazine and Teen Vogue. When it comes to her social media presence, in March 2020 her Instagram had over 18 million followers and around 350,000 followers on Facebook.

Personal Life

Grey tends to share everything with her fans and audience. Her father runs an Instagram account under the username “reallylorensdad”, on which he frequently posts photos of his daughter and other family members – including her older half-sister through her father, named Jordan Beech – while still keeping his name private. As of March 2020, his profile has almost 200,000 followers. She had a Pomeranian called Angel Pom, which had its own Instagram account with over half a million followers.

Angel Pom would sadly pass away in 2019, and Grey welcomed her new dog, Smudge Pom, who is of the same breed, but her favorite animals are sloths! One of her favorite artists is Eminem.

Her biggest hobby is watching baking shows. She names knowing how to recite the alphabet backwards as her biggest hidden talent.

Grey started dating the younger brother of famous Social Media star James Charles, Ian Jeffrey, in 2018, but the couple broke up in 2019. She’s also dated other Social Media stars, such as Juwany Roman, Harvey Music and Joey Kisluk. Through her internet fame, she is considered to be a role model to many. So far, she tries to retain the “good girl” image and acts rather humble and charismatic, but thousands of girls from all around the world try to copy her looks and style.

This is partly due to her religious beliefs, as she tries her hardest to lead the pious lifestyle. She often talks about how, while some people supported her during her rise to fame and always held her back, others cyber-bullied her, and would call her anorexic and ugly, claiming that she’d had a lot of surgeries done. She had left school and continued her education while home-schooled, in order to avoid bullies and gossips.

Net worth

Loren’s net worth is based on her social media accounts, with accumulatively over 60 million followers.

Next to her modelling and music career, she uses her profiles to sell merchandise and has many sponsored deals. So as of early 2020 and not yet 18, her net worth is estimated by sources at higher than $300,000.

Physical characteristics

Gray is rather slim and stands at 5ft 8ins (1.74m) tall, with a weight of around 130lbs (58kgs), and vital statistics of 34-25-35, bra size 32B. Her shoe size is 8 (US), and dress size 4 (US). However her most striking features are her big, blue eyes shaped with her blonde hair.
