She is an eight-year-old celebrity child, best recognized for being the daughter of the late Chester Bennington, known as the lead vocalist of rock band ‘Linkin Park’, and his second wife, Talinda Ann Bentley, a former Playboy model.

At the age of seven, he was sexually abused by an older male friend, but was afraid to admit it, so it lasted until the age of 13.

Chester started his music career as a member of the band ‘Sean Dowdell and His Friends’. They released the three-song cassette back in 1993, before Chester and Sean formed the post-grunge band ‘Grey Daze’, and released their debut album “Demo” later the same year, and two more albums, “Wake/Me” (1994) and “…No Sun Today” (1997), before Chester left in 1998.

Early Years in ‘Linkin Park’

In March 1999, Chester was offered participation at an audition for the rock band‘Xero’ by Jeff Blue, who was the Vice President at Zomba Music. The band was originally named and formed by Rob Bourdon, Brad Delson and Mike Shinoda in Agoura Hills, California. Chester auditioned successfully and moved to California to continue pursuing his career. The band changed their name to ‘Hybrid Theory’, but had great difficulty finding a record label and signing a contract, so they released their debut self-titled EP through Mix Media in May 1999. They eventually signed a record deal with Warner Bros. Records with the help of Jeff Blue, who was now the Vice President of the label following which they changed the name of the band once again, this time to ‘Linkin Park’.

Debut Album ‘Hybrid Theory’ and Rise to Fame

In October 2000, ‘Linkin Park’ released their debut studio album, “Hybrid Theory”, via Warner Bros. Records, which was a huge commercial success and rocketed the band to the stardom, peaking at No. 2 on the US Billboard 200 chart. The album was eventually certified 11 times platinum by the RIAA, selling over 4.8 million copies during its first year, and spawning such singles as “Crawling”, for which they won a Grammy Award for Best Hard Rock Performance, and “One Step Closer”. They were also nominated for Best New Artist and Best Rock Albums at the Grammy Awards. In 2005, the album received a diamond certification by the RIAA, since it became the best-selling debut album of the decade. Thereafter, the band launched their own tour “Projekt Revolution” and released their documentary DVD, entitled “Frat Party At The Pankake Festival”.

‘Meteora’, ‘Minutes to Midnight’, and ‘A Thousand Suns’

The band released their second album, entitled “Meteora”, in March 2003, which topped the US Billboard 200 chart. The album includes such singles as “Numb”, for which they won a Radio Music Award for Song of the Year, “Faint”, “Somewhere I Belong”, and “Breaking The Habit”. In early 2004, they started “Meteora World Tour” to promote the album. Their third album “Minutes To Midnight”, was released in May 2007. It topped on the US Billboard 200 albums chart again and in 15 other countries. It also reached No. 154 on the US Billboard’s Hot 200 Albums of the Decade. The album’s lead single “What I’ve Done” was used as the soundtrack for the sci-fi film “Transformers” (2007). In September 2010, the band released another number-one album, “A Thousand Suns”, with the lead single “The Catalyst”.

‘Living Things’, ‘The Hunting Party’, and ‘One More Light’

Their fifth album, entitled “Living Things”, came out in June 2012, which also topped the US Billboard 200 and included such hit singles as “Burn It Dawn”, “Castle Of Grass”, etc. Two years later, the band produced their sixth studio album, “The Hunting Party”, which peaked at No. 3 on the US Billboard 200 chart, and was also ranked as the fourth best album of 2014 by the magazine ‘Revolver’. In November 2015, they started working on their seventh studio album, “One More Light”, released in May 2017, again topping the US Billboard 200 and receiving a gold certification by the RIAA. It is the last album of the band to feature Chester Bennington.

Other Projects

In 2005, Chester Bennington co-founded the electronic rock band ‘Dead by Sunrise’, alongside Amir Derakh and Ryan Shuck. In October 2009, they released via Warner Bros. Records their debut studio album “Out Of Ashes”, which reached No. 29 on the US Billboard 200. Besides that, Chester joined the San Diego-based rock band ‘Stone Temple Pilots’ in 2013. His first single with the band, entitled “Out Of Time”, was released in May of the same year. However, he left the band in 2015.

Death

Chester Bennington took his own life on 20 July 2017 at the age of 41, apparently depressed by the suicide of his friend Chris Cornell a couple of months earlier. His housekeeper found him dead at his home, located in Palos Verdes Estates, California. His death was confirmed by his fellow Mike Shinoda on Twitter. ‘Linkin Park’ canceled their tour, and the band has been on hiatus ever since.
