Anne Stringfield spent her early years in her hometown of Pensacola, raised by her father, Dr. James Stringfield, who was a pulmonologist, while her mother, Margo Stringfield, worked as an archeologist at the University of West Florida. She has a younger sister, named Laura Stringfield. Anne’s is American by nationality and belongs to White Caucasian ethnic group. Anne went to Pensacola High School, and upon matriculation enrolled into Davidson College, from which she obtained her Bachelor’s Degree in 1994.

Career Beginnings

Prior to becoming an actor, Steve Martin spent some time working at Disneyland as a guidebook seller. His first film appearance came incidentally, when he was caught in the background of the film “Disneyland Dream”. He soon became interested in illusions and tricks, and eventually started performing at The Magic Shop in Fantasyland in 1960. During his college years, he performed as a part of a comedy troupe, but his career changed for the better after his ex-girlfriend Nina Goldblatt, who was a dancer in the show “The Smothers Brothers Comedy Hour”, helped him to land a writing job there in 1967. In the following year Steve made his debut appearance in the show, while he won an Emmy Award for writing in 1969.

He also wrote for “The Sonny and Cher Comedy Hour”, “The Glen Campbell Goodtime Hour”, and “Van Dyke And Company”, for which he received an Emmy Award nomination in 1976.

Stand-Up Comedy

In the mid-1970s, Steve Martin began performing as a stand-up comedian in such as “The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson”, “On Location”, “The Muppet Show”, and “Saturday Night Live”. Side by side, Steve released a number of comedy albums, including “Let’s Get Small” (1977) and “A Wild and Crazy Guy” (1978), both of which won a Grammy Award for Best Comedy Recording, and received platinum certification by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA). His first major role came with Carl Reiner’s 1979 comedy “The Jerk”, which was a huge box office success. He then starred as Arthur in the musical romantic drama “Pennies From Heaven” (1981), played Dr. Michael Hfuhruhurr in the sci-fi comedy “The Man With Two Brains” (1983), and featured as C. D. Bales in the romantic comedy “Roxanne” (1987).

His next significant roles included Gil Buckman in the 1989 comedy-drama “Parenthood”, and George Banks in the film series “Father Of The Bride”. Steve gained worldwide recognition with the role of Inspector Clouseau in the comedy–mystery film “The Pink Panther” (2006) and its sequel “The Pink Panther 2” (2009).

Writing Career

Steve Martin has also written several plays. His first full-length play, entitled “Picasso At The Lapin Agile”, was released in 1993. In 2002, he adapted the play “The Underpants” by Carl Sternheim. Most recently, he wrote the play “Meteor Shower” (2016). Besides that, Steve has published the novellas “Shopgirl” in 2000, “The Pleasure of My Company” in 2003, and “An Object Of Beauty” in 2010. Music Career
