Khatira became interested in acting and modelling after enrolling at elementary school, as most of her peers were interested in the same thing. She started playing sports once enrolling at high school, such as volleyball and lacrosse and she also joined her school’s drama club appearing in several plays before matriculation. She decided not to enroll at college, but to find a job to financially support herself and help her parents.
Career as an actress
It appears as Khatira’s acting career was launched in 2009, but ended in the same year after she appeared in two films.
She made her debut film appearance in the short action drama film “Layla”, which lasts 35 minutes and starred Marie Therese Abou-Daoud, Jawad Asephi and Jasmine Bissete. Khatira portrayed Zola in this film, which talks about a father living in Afghanistan and his daughter living in Los Angeles as they start smuggling drugs. Layla, the lead character in the film, betrays her boss in Los Angeles, and things start getting dangerous for both her and her father.
Her second role was in the horror movie “Chain Letter”, which starred Nikki Reed, Keith David and Brad Dourif, and which was directed and written by Deon Taylor – Khatira portrayed Mrs. Garrett who is a consultant.
The stor is about a chain mail, which if not forwarded means that a serial killer will murder the last recipient. The movie had a rather poor 4.1/10 score on the IMDb movie rating website. It is not known what Khatira has been doing after these films – many people believe that she has stopped acting and any other work, and is rather sharing her husband’s net worth.
Love life and relationships
Khatira met Michael Ealy at a party in 2008, and a month later the two started dating.
It was only a year later that Michael addressed the public about his relationship with Khatira, and they went on to date for the next three years before marrying in October 2012 at an event which was attended by only their close friends and family. Once again, the public didn’t learn about the event until early 2013.
On 18 April 2014, Khatira gave birth to their son Elijah Brown, and in November 2016, Michael stated during an interview that they had just become parents to a baby girl.
Michael had been in several relationships before meeting Khatira; he dated Halle Berry, a famous actress, from October 2005 to March 2008, while he was also in a relationship with Taraji P. Henson, an author and actress.
Hobbies and other interests
Khatira’s main hobby was travelling, and she has been all around Europe several times with her dream travel destination being Paris, France, however, after becoming a mother, she stopped travelling and has dedicated her time to raising her children. She enjoys watching comedy movies in her spare time, and some of her favorite actors and actresses are Julia Roberts, Eddie Murphy and Robin Williams, while some of the movies she enjoys watching the most are “Runaway Bride”, “Airplane!”, and “The Naked Gun”.
She is a lover of animals, and had two pet dogs which died in 2015 and 2016. Khatira is interested in doing voluntary work, and has both volunteered and donated money to Afghanistan Relief Organization and Young Women for Change.
