Lawrence John Romano was born in Mount Vernon, New York State, USA, on 31 July 1963 – his zodiac sign is Leo and he holds American nationality. He is an actor who is perhaps still best known for his portrayal of Richie Iannucci in the comedy series “The King of Queens”, which aired from 1998 to 2007 and was created by David Litt and Michael J. Weithorn. The series starred Kevin James, Leah Remini and Jerry Stiller, and followed the life of the delivery man Doug Heffernan after his father moves in with him – it won 14 awards and was nominated for five others, including a Primetime Emmy.

Early life and education

Larry was raised an only child in Mount Vernon by his father who was a construction worker, and his mother who was a piano teacher. He became interested in acting while attending elementary school, as his teacher recommended that he join the school’s drama club – Larry was soon seen performing in nearly all the school plays, and he continued with acting upon enrolling at Tappan Zee High School.

He was also physically quite active during this time, as he played football and basketball, while he also started to go to gym at the age of 17, so as to sculpt his body and look good for his acting career.

Larry matriculated in 1981, and then enrolled at the Lee Strasberg Theatre and Film Institute I New York City, from which he graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in theatre in 1985.

Larry made his debut movie appearance in 1987, when he played a FedEx driver in the short comedy “On Time”, written and directed by Ari Taub, and which starred Hy Anzell, Robert Bland and Tony Didio Jr. – the story follows a bicycle messenger who is trying to deliver a message on time in New York.

In 1989, Larry appeared in the comedy movie “She’s Back”, but which received mostly negative reviews, then in the same year, he portrayed First Base in the prison action movie “Lock Up”, which starred Sylvester Stallone.
