A Troubled Relationship

Nicole lived most of her life away from the spotlight, while her husband grew to some notoriety during this period. Husband – Bam Margera

Bam grew up in West Chester, Pennsylvania and was a troublesome child even during his youth. He dropped out of high school, but made friends with many skateboarders at the time. He began doing stunts, and filmed himself skateboarding with his friends, which lead to the creation of the group Camp Kill Yourself or CKY, with him releasing numerous videos under the banner. Other skateboarders featured as a part of this crew were Chris Raab, Ryan Dunn, Brandon Novak and Brandon DiCamillo.

The group gained a lot of attention for their skills, and he, in particular caught the attention of Jeff Tremaine who invited him to be a part of MTV.

This would lead to the creation of the television series “Jackass”, which often featured members of CKY. The project proved successful, and led to spin-offs of such films as “Jackass: the Movie”, “Jackass 3D”, “Jackass Number Two”, and “3.5”.

Continued Success – Bam Margera

While working on Jackass, Margera was a known personality within the skating world, not only for his pranks but his ability to skate. He was sponsored by Toy Machine Skateboards and eventually became a part of Team Element, sponsored by Element Skateboards. He also gained sponsorships from various companies, from apparel to skateboarding gear.

Bam Margera

He slowly moved away from skateboarding as he aged, only doing so casually, though he still attends big events.

His success with “Jackass” prompted MTV to give him a show which would become “Viva La Bam”. The series featured him and his crew visiting the country to do skateboarding stunts, as well as other activities. After the end of its run, he then filmed another show called “Bam’s Unholy Union”, which featured the preparation for his wedding to then-fiancée Melissa Rothstein. In 2010, he worked on the Spike TV show “Bam’s World Domination”, which saw him and his friends undertake an obstacle course race.

Recently, he’s been appearing more in therapy programs due to his issues, with the latest being “Family Therapy with Dr. Jenn”.

Bam Margera’s Troubles

Bam abused his love for alcohol during his 20s, which later led to his current alcohol problems. As seen in footage from “Jackass” he often went on alcoholic binges, and this drinking habit only worsened over the years. In 2010, he got into a fight with a woman who accused him of calling her a nigger. This led to him being hospitalized after he was attacked with a baseball bat. Three years later, he was arrested in Iceland after failing to pay damages he caused to a rental car which he trashed when in a drunken stupor.

He got into a deeper drinking problem after he became depressed after putting skating on hold due to bone spurs. Following therapy for alcohol, he revealed that he has mental issues, eating disorders, anxiety problems, and lived a generally unhealthy lifestyle. He had become miserable due to becoming overweight and his injuries, which led him to essentially relearn skating. In 2018, after being mostly sober for a few years, he relapsed after an altercation during a holiday in Colombia, where he was robbed at gunpoint. Media also has footage of him damaging his own home, insulting his wife, and threatening his manager while in a drunken state

Accumulated Wealth

Despite all of Margera’s problems, he has gained considerable wealth mainly thanks to his success in the entertainment industry, including royalties from his television shows, films, and radio programs, and from featuring in several video games. He released a book too, entitled “Serious as Dog Dirt”. He owns two houses in his home town – one was renovated and later used for rentals via Airbnb. While he has enjoyed a lot of riches, some people believe that his alcoholism has limited his potential to earn much more than he currently has.
