She became interested in acting at the age of five when she started watching sitcoms with her mother, and after enrolling at elementary school, she joined its drama club and began appearing in school plays. When she enrolled at high school, she became interested in cars through helping her father, while also working on her acting skills, and she was also physically active practicing dance and playing soccer.
Upon matriculation, Robin attended Australia’s National Institute of Dramatic Art in Kensington, New South Wales, graduating with a Bachelor of Arts degree in performing arts in 2004.
Career as an actress
She launched her career as an actress when she portrayed Lola Stone in the horror film “The Loved Ones” in 2009, which also starred Xavier Samuel and John Brumpton – Lola comes up with a plan for revenge after she asks Brent to go with her to the prom and gets rejected. For her performance, she was nominated for a Fangoria Chainsaw Award for best leading actress, which eventually went to Elizabeth Olsen for her performance in the horror film “Silent House”. In the same year, Robin played Stella Kowalski in the stage play “A Streetcar Named Desire”, and for her performance received the Helen Hayes Award for outstanding supporting performer.

She went on to appear in the four-season long play “Holding the Man”. From 5 to 25 July 2010, Robin portrayed Isabella in the play “Measure for Measure” at the Velvoir Theatre, and also played Honey in the play “Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf?” being nominated for a Sydney Theatre Award for best supporting actress.
She gained recognition after being invited to play Eva Oates in the TV series “Hell on Wheels” which stars Anson Mount and Colm Meaney, and follows soldier Cullen Bohannon who, after his wife dies, starts seeking revenge. Robin was a member of the main cast from 2011 to 2016 when the series ended.
In 2012, she played Nancy Lincoln in the action horror film “Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter” which stars Benjamin Walker, Rufus Sewell and Dominic Cooper, and follows ‘Abraham Lincoln, the 16th President of the United States who discovers vampires are planning to take over the United States, and he makes it his mission to eliminate them.’ She had her first voice role in 2015 voicing the Koala Nutsy in “Blinky Bill the Movie”, while one of her latest appearances has been in the TV series “Wu Assassins” in which she is portraying Maggie McCullough.

In October 2009, Robin met Joel Edgerton at an event organized for actors, started dating and were together for over a year before breaking up due to what appears to be jealousy issues. Rumor has it that the two started dating once again in 2013, and that they were together for a year before splitting.
Robin has been in several other relationships, but has been keeping the details of her love life hidden, however, she was seen walking hand in hand with a mysterious man in 2017, and the two were seen by her fans several times after that before their alleged split.
