Introduction
Not everyone makes their breakthrough role right away, and it can take years for someone to reach the headlines. Such was the case of Conor Leslie, who acted in a number of commercials and low-rated movies before she was cast in “Titans”, the role which changed her life. Who truly is Conor Leslie and what has been her career path?
Early life and Education
Conor Marie Leslie was born on 10 April 1991, in Millburn, New Jersey USA, to parents John and Rosanne Leslie, and has a younger brother, Dylan.
Her mother is a motivational speaker, a published author and an intuitive life coach. She is of Scottish and Italian descent and holds an American nationality. While very young she discovered a passion for photography. She attended Millburn High School that she matriculated from in 2008 as a junior. After completing her high school she moved to New Your City, US.
Career
While still in high school, Leslie appeared in numerous commercials together with a friend of hers.
At the age of 15, she became dedicated to switching over to TV acting and moved to New York so she could get more roles. In 2007 she was cast in the pilot for M.O.N.Y., a project directed by Spike Lee, but the series was never picked up. This is why it’s considered that her television debut was a guest appearance in the show “The Unusuals” from 2009, in which she portrayed Karen Delmonte, Detective Eric Delahoy’s girlfriend from high school. Next year, she portrayed Eliza, a teenager who got caught showing herself naked on a webcam during the finale of the famous series “Law and Order”.
The same year she played character of Mia Caruso, a young journalist who was a suspect for murder in “Law and Order: Criminal Intent”, and she also made a cameo appearance in “90210” as a flirtatious student named Parker. She landed her first film role in 2010, when she portrayed high school student Amy in “Beware the Gonzo”.
In 2011, Leslie continued her guest roles on TV, as she appeared as Chloe Cotten in “No Ordinary Family”. Next year, she landed another movie role when she was cast in “Chained”, a psychological thriller from 2012.
She was praised by reviewer Jamie S. Rich, and despite him being very critical of the movie itself, he noted that her acting was outstanding.
In 2013, Leslie had the roles in the unreleased pilot for “Widow Detective”, as well as in “Campus Life” – which was re-released in 2015 under the name “Campus Code” – and in television series’ “Rizzoli Isles” and “Revenge”. Leslie’s first recurring role came in 2014, when she was cast in the role of courtesan Sabine in Discovery Channel miniseries “Klondike”, that covered the gold rush, and was in fact the first scripted series that Discovery Channel broadcasted.
During the same year, she appeared in an episode of “Hawaii Five-0” playing Kelly Donovan, and portrayed Des, Penn Badgley’s character’s ex-girlfriend, in the movie “Parts per Billion”.
During the next year, she appeared in the alternate history television series “The Man in the High Castle” in the role of Trudy Walker, Juliana Crain’s half-sister. Her character was killed in the first season, but then returned for another two seasons as a part of an alternative timeline. She appeared in “Other Space”, a Yahoo! Screen’s comedy with a glimpse of science fiction, as well as in the series’ “The Blacklist” and “Major Crimes”, as well as in Tim Bartell’s movie “Dirty Beautiful”.
During 2016 and 2017, she appeared in an episode of the drama television series “Elementary”, landed recurring roles in “Graves” and “Shots Fired”, Fox’s miniseries’, as well as a guest role in “Gone”. She also appeared in “Down”, a short movie that her brother Dylan directed. A surprising role that Leslie landed in 2018 was in the short comedy-drama film “Shrimp” directed by Zelda Williams, portraying dominatrix Sasha. The movie had its premiere at the Tribeca Film Festival, and is being developed by Gunpowder and Sky as a series.
Appearance in Titans
Leslie got her breakthrough role in 2018, when she was cast as original Wonder Girl, Donna Troy, in a live action version of “Titans”, the series that is placed in the DC Universe.
She was introduced in the eighth episode that was self-titled, and Leslie’s portrayal of the character instantly attracted positive critiques. Entertainment Weekly’s critic Chancellor Agard wrote that Leslie was a perfect choice for Donna and that she was his favorite actress in the show. Donna was a guest character during the series’ first season, but was promoted to the main cast in 2019 during the second season, as she was one of the fan favorites. Her character is supposed to return for the third season of the series as well.
Personal Life
Next to her successful acting career, Leslie is also a prominent photographer. She takes photos using analog 35mm film, as she dislikes using digital methods.
As of 2020, there is no information about her relationship history or whether or not she’s dating someone at the moment. She is rumored to date her “Titans” castmate, Ryan Potter, who plays the character of Beast Boy, but as of today neither Potter nor Leslie have made comments on the gossip. She is rather active on Instagram, with over 360,000 followers, and on Twitter as well, where her following has almost reached 30,000.

Leslie’s acting career, together with her photography skills, has already made her a small fortune.
