Childhood and education

Renata was raised an only child in Cuernavaca by her father Alfredo Martinez Guerrero, who works as a janitor at a local high school, and her mother Liliana Notni who is a social worker.

She became interested in modelling at the age of eight, and started paying attention to what she ate and how physically active she was, and so played several sports while attending high school, including soccer and lacrosse, while also acting in school plays. She further improved her acting skills at The Centro de Educacion ARtistica (CEA), where she worked with several famous Mexican actors and actresses.

Upon matriculation, Renata focused on becoming a full-time actress, and didn’t enroll at college.

Career as an actress and other ventures

Renata made her debut TV series appearance at the age of 10, when she portrayed the recurring character Andrea Garza Duran in “Codigo Postal” in 2006 and 2007, while she gained a bit of recognition after playing Nora and Quinni in the series “La Rosa de Guadalupe” from 2008 to 2010.

In 2008, she was invited to act as Luisa Hernandez in the comedy romance series “Un Gancho al Corazon”, which stars Danna Garcia and Sebastian Rulli, and follows a young girl Valentina Lopez who is a professional boxer and is in a relationship with her trainer.

In 2009, Renata started playing Carmita Brancho in “Mar de Amor”, and after being praised for her performance, she was nominated for a Premios TVyNovelas Award for the Best Young Lead Actress.

Renata started dating Diego Amozurrutia, a Mexican actor and singer, in 2013 shortly after the two met on the set of a TV series. Diego is mostly known for his roles in Mexican telenovelas such as “Amorcito Corazon”, “Quiero Amarte”, and “Entre Corer y Vivi”, in most of which he starred alongside Renata.

They dated for two years before splitting, for unknown reasons. In 2015, Renata met Andres Rivero who is a Mexican businessman, and the two started dating in January 2016, attending most of Renata’s TV series-related events together. It is believed that Andres had several other girlfriends during the time he dated Renata, which eventually led to their split in 2019.
