Amelia ‘Milly’ Lee Shapiro was born in Tampa, Florida USA, on 16 July 2002 – her zodiac sign is Cancer and she holds American nationality. She is an actress and a singer, best known for having starred in the horror movie “Hereditary” in 2018.
Early life and education
Milly was raised alongside her sister Abigail in Tampa, by their parents Eric Shapiro who is a businessman and their mother Michelle who is a businesswoman. Milly grew up wanting to become a singer and an actress, and started practicing her singing skills when she was three.
Two years later she began practicing acting at an acting school, and was appearing in most of the plays organized there. She attended the Community Montessori School until she was discovered by a scout who was looking for actresses, and Milly moved with her family to New York when she was cast to appear in her first Broadway play. Milly will be matriculating from high school in the summer of 2020, and it appears that she isn’t planning on enrolling at college, but will focus on her career as an actress.
Career as an actress
Milly gained recognition after she portrayed Matilda Wormwood in the stage musical “Matilda the Musical” from 8 March 2013 to 19 January 2014, performed at the Sam S. Shubert Theatre. The play is based on the eponymous novel written by Roald Dahl, and follows a five-year old girl who can move objects with her mind, but who is struggling in her life due to family issues as well as problems at school. For her performance, Milly was awarded a Tony Honor of Excellence and was nominated for a Grammy Award for the Best Musical Theatre Album.
In 2014, Milly and Abigail released their live album recorded while they were performing at 54 Below called “Live Out Loud – Live at 54 Below”. The year 2016 saw Milly perform as Sally Brown in the musical comedy play “You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown”, performed at the York Theatre, which is based on characters which Charles M. Schulz created in his “Peanuts” comic strip.
Milly made her debut film appearance in 2018, starring as Charlie Graham in the drama horror mystery film “Hereditary”, which also starred Toni Collete and Gabriel Byrne and which follows a family who had suffered a loss, and is now haunted by strange and unexplainable happenings.
Milly was praised for her performance, and was then invited to guest star as Emma Rebecca in the episode “We Need to Talk About Karen” of the comedy TV series “Splitting Up Together” in 2018.
Her latest appearance has been in the sixth episode of the third season of the reality TV competition series “The Boulet Brothers’ Dragula”, as a guest judge which shows drag artists from all around the globe competing to become the next Drag Supermonster, or the ‘Dragula’, while being graded in four sections – ‘Drag’, ‘Glamour’, ‘Horror’, and ‘Filth’.
Love life and relationships
There have been rumors circulating the internet that the popular actress was in a relationship with a colleague actor who appeared alongside her in the series “Splitting Up Together”, in 2018 but this hasn’t been confirmed by either Milly or the actor. Some of Milly’s fans believe that the popular actress is a lesbian, due to the strange content that she shares with the public using her Instagram account.
Milly currently appears to be single, hasn’t married, and doesn’t have children.
Hobbies and other interests
Milly is a bit of a shopaholic, as she goes shopping for clothes on a daily basis and likes the Japanese Harajuku fashion, which is a combination of many Japanese fashion styles including but not limited to Gothic Iolita, Cosplay, and Sweet Iolita. She is physically active, playing a variety of sports with her favorites being tennis and soccer, while she also enjoys watching live football and basketball matches.
Milly likes to watch movies in her spare time, and some of her favorite actors and actresses are Daniel Radcliffe, Johnny Depp and Emma Watson, while her favorite movies are the franchises “Harry Potter” and “Pirates of the Caribbean” – she has watched the film “Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone” numerous times, and if she could choose, she would be a member of the Slytherin House.

Medical condition and illness
Milly was born with Cleidocranial Dysplasia, a rare genetic disorder which has only ever affected 1,000 people – another famous actor who has the same disorder is Dustin Henderson, best known for starring in the series “Stranger Things”.
The disorder cannot be cured – the person who has it was born with no or underdeveloped collarbones which can then affect the look of the person’s face and skull. In most cases, the people suffering from it will not grow nearly as tall as other people in their family.
