Introduction

Often times, it’s really hard to connect a young person with his or her family, even when they are all famous. Offspring tend to have their own style and fashion sense and their careers can take a different path than their parents’. The same goes for Travis Sedgwick Bacon. Who is Travis? Who are his famous parents?

Early life and Education

Travis Sedgwick Bacon was born on 23rd June 1989, in Los Angeles, California USA, to a famous parent couple Kyra Sedgwick and Kevin Bacon – while Kyra was pregnant with him, she was shooting her hit movie, “Born on the Fourth of July”.

He is the duo’s first child, as the couple had their daughter, Sosie Ruth Bacon, on 15th March 1992. His paternal grandparents were Ruth Hilda Holmes and Edmund Bacon, and his grandparents from his mother’s side were Henry Sedgwick V. and Patricia Rosenwald.

When Travis was a newborn, his father left him in a locked car by accident in summer, leaving the keys inside as well. This almost led to Travis’ death, but thankfully some pedestrian helped Kevin break the car’s windows and pulled the baby out. By that time, Travis was heavily panting, but recovered without any consequences. Still, this gave his father quite a scare.

It is not disclosed where Travis went to high school, but it is known that sometime after matriculation Travis moved to a different state, as he enrolled into Evergreen State College in Olympia, Washington State, and earned a bachelor’s degree in art and audio engineering.

Family

Travis’ father, Kevin Bacon, is an actor famous for his roles in “Footloose”, “Apollo 13”, “Sleepers”, “Friday the 13th” from 1980, “X-Men: First Class” and “Patriots Day”. His television roles include starring in a plethora of series such as “Taking Chance”, for which he was rewarded with a Golden Globe Award as well as a Screen Actors Guild Award, “The Following” and “I Love Dick”.

He also won a Primetime Emmy Award nomination, as well as another Golden Globe Award nomination. British daily newspaper “The Guardian” named him one of the best actors who had ever received an Academy Award nomination. Bacon also received a Hollywood Walk of Fame star in 2003.

Travis’ mother, Kyra Sedgwick, starred in many TV series, including “The Closer” in which she played Chief Brenda Leigh Johnson, a character for which she won both Golden Globe and Emmy Awards. She also won one Golden Globe nomination way back in 1995 for her performance in “Something to Talk About”.

The couple has been married since 1988, but although their love life hasn’t been without scandals and confirmed affairs, they are still known as one of the Hollywood’s longest standing marriages. The couple’s younger daughter, Sosie, started her career in “Loverboy”, and kept on acting alongside her mother as Charlie, Brenda Leigh Johnson’s niece, in the show’s fifth season. She also performed in various series and movies such as “13 Reasons Why”, “Major Crimes” and “Here and Now”.

Travis is also a cousin of actor and production manager Neal Bacon.

Career

As a child of two big Hollywood names, Travis was expected to turn to an acting career.

Travis and Kevin Bacon

This first happened in 2005 when he was 16, when he landed himself the role of Lenny in “Loverboy”, 2005’s hit film directed by his father, Kevin. Acting wasn’t his cup of tea, though, so he turned toward music, and went on to make a name for himself in that field. However, his sister Sosie also starred in “Loverboy”, and her acting career skyrocketed after this performance.

When it comes to music, he started as an assistant engineer working for The Wild Arctic, a prominent record company. At around same time, he became a performer at “The Acheron”, as well as other venues such as “Club Europa”, “Union Hall” and “St. Vitus Bar”.

Travis is also one of the four members of a black metal band, “Black Anvil”, formed in 2007 with original members Paul Delaney, Ralph Glicken and Gary Bennet; Travis joined the band in 2016 as a guitarist. He is also a guitarist of the rock-punk band “Idiot Box”, playing alongside three other members. Until 2015 he was also a guitarist of the band “White Widows Pact”.

Travis has also composed music for “Story of a Girl”, a romantic movie that his mother directed and in which his father played one of the main roles. He is also the owner and head engineer of Broken Box Recording Company, a professional recording studio that he founded in 2013 and is located in Bushwick Brooklyn, New York.

Personal Life

Travis is really close to his family members, and can often be seen attending premiers and red carpet events with his parents and sister. On 21st June 2015 he was seen in New York during “Cop War” premiere together with his father, and he also attended the premiere of “X-men: First Class” in which his father played the main antagonist. He was also seen with both of his parents at a screening of “Story of a Girl”– which isn’t too weird and unusual as he is one of the composers for the movie’s soundtrack.

Other than his family life, Travis keeps his personal life private. Nothing is known about his relationship status; he has never slipped any names nor has he ever been seen with anyone in public, male or female, and there aren’t even any rumors regarding his dating life.

Travis is not active on any social media platforms, such as Facebook, Instagram or Twitter.
