According to rumors, there are pirate treasures, the Holy Grail, and Shakespeare’s manuscripts on the island, while the curse says that seven people will die before the treasure will be found; so far, six people have died searching for it.

It was in 1701 that a member of Captain Kidd’s crew stated while dying that £2 million was buried on the island, and so people began digging and searching for the treasure. The first excavations happened in 1861, but led to those six deaths as the people digging it hit flood tunnels.
