Life and Career

Amanda Levy was raised in Jamaica, and as such she grew up in the country’s culture. She loved the local music scene there, and it was that involvement which eventually led her to meet TobyMac. They married in 1994, and she later moved with him to the US, making regular visits to Jamaica when they can.

She has mainly been behind the scenes, supporting her husband’s work and at times joining him during big events or concerts. When they started a family, she began to focus more on raising children – they had five, two of whom are twins.

Their eldest followed in his father’s footsteps and a lot of songs were dedicated to him, as he even collaborated with his father numerous times. However, in 2020 it was reported that he had passed away following an accidental overdose. The family has remained silent with their grief with the father only releasing music as a tribute to his late child.
