Ellen Anna Muth was born in Milford, Connecticut USA, on 6 March 1981, so her zodiac sign is Pisces and she holds American nationality. She is an actress, who gained recognition after starring as Georgia ‘George’ Lass in the comedy drama series “Dead Like Me”, which also starred Callum Blue and Jasmine Guy and which follows a girl who dies and becomes a grim reaper.
It seems as Ellen hasn’t appeared in a single movie or TV series in the past couple of years, but is rather focused on racing fast cars.

Childhood and education
Ellen was raised in Milford by her mother Rachel Muth who was an actress, and her father Dr. Erich Muth who is the most famous optician in the US – he was once The National Optician of the Year, and the Smithsonian Museum has an entire sector donated by him, while another museum carries his name.
Ellen attended a public high school where she became interested in acting, so her mother took her to her first audition when she was 14. At the time she was appearing in all of the plays organized at her school, and was also physically active, playing a variety of sports. By the time she matriculated, she met famous American actress Marlo Thomas, who invited Ellen to study acting at The Lee Strasberg Institute on a full scholarship.
Ellen graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in theatre in 2003.
Roles in movies
Ellen made her debut film appearance in the psychological thriller “Dolores Claiborne” in 1995 at the age of 14, and for her performance won a Tokyo International Film Festival Award for the Best Supporting Actress. In 1999, she portrayed Constance in the comedy drama “The Young Girl and the Monsoon”, and was rewarded with an American Film Institute (AFI) Award for Best Actress, while the same year saw her play Rachel in “Only Love”. In 2000 she appeared in “The Truth About Jane” and “Cora Unashamed”.

She went on to appear in movies “Rain” in 2001, “A Gentlemen’s Game” in 2002, and “Tofu the Vegan Zombie in Zombie Dearest” in 2007, before being invited to star in three short films “Jack N Jill” in 2008, “Dead Like Me: Life After Death” in 2009, and “Rose and Violet” in 2011.
Two of Ellen’s most recent appearances in movies have been in “Margarine Wars” and “Rudyard Klipling’s Mark of the Beast”, both released in 2012.

Ellen made her debut TV series appearance in 1997, portraying Adele Green in the episode “Thrill” of the police procedural and legal drama series “Law & Order”.
She was invited to guest star in three series in 2000 – “The Beat”, “Law & Order: Special Victims Unit”, and “Normal, Ohio”, then in 2003 she began portraying Georgia in “Dead Like Me”, and was nominated for a Saturn Award for the Best Actress on Television, and for a Satellite Award for the Best Actress – Television Series Drama for her performance.
Two of Ellen’s latest appearances in series have been in “The Inappropriate Website Episode” of the sitcom “Are We There Yet?”, and two episodes of the psychological horror series “Hannibal” in 2013.

There have been rumors circulating the internet about the popular actress being a lesbian, due to the fact that she has portrayed several teen gay characters, however, it is believed that Ellen is simply a good actress and is straight (or bisexual).

Jeffrey found comfort in acting while attending Amesbury High School, and then studied at Bridgewater State College, eventually switching to the University of Massachusetts, Amherst and graduating with a Bachelor of Arts degree in drama in 1990, while he received his Master of Fine Arts degree in theatre from the New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts.

Ellen likes to play characters who are the complete opposite of herself, as she enjoys the challenge and practicing her skills. Ellen has stated how she would like to become a writer after she’s done with her acting career.
