Who is Michael Treanor and where is he now?
Michael Treanor was born in Los Angeles, California USA on 17 April 1979 – his zodiac sign is Aries and he holds American nationality. Michael is a former actor and a martial artist, perhaps best known for his portrayal of the lead character Rocky in the action family comedy movie “3 Ninjas” which also starred Victor Wong and Max Elliott Slade, was written by Kenny Kim and Edward Emanuel while Jon Tuteltaub directed. It follows three brothers who are visiting their grandfather who is a highly skilled ninjutsu fighter and who has also taught the kids how to fight.
For their performance, the three boys were nominated for a Young Artist Award for Outstanding Young Ensemble Cast in a Motion Picture.
Michael was noticed by a scout while he was practicing martial arts, and it was his friend who encouraged him to attend the audition which he won, and was chosen to play Rocky. Within two years after his role, Michael had decided not to work on his acting career.
Early life and education
Michael was raised alongside his two older brothers Brian and Adam and his older sister Erin in Los Angeles by their father Richard Treanor who was a truck driver, and their mother Peggy who was a theatre actress.
Michael became interested in martial arts at a very early age and started taking karate lessons, and a year later also began practicing Tae Kwon Do – by the time he turned 12, he already held black belts in both disciplines. Michael was focused on his studies while attending high school, but spent most of his free time practicing martial arts and preparing for his exams – he matriculated in 1997, and then enrolled at a university from which he graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in computer science in 2001.
Career as an actor
Michael became very popular in the US after his role in “3 Ninjas”, and in 1993 he portrayed Rocky again in the action comedy family movie “3 Ninjas: Knuckle Up”, which also starred Victor Wong and Charles Napier, and which follows the three boys now fighting a toxic waste dumper which threatens to ruin the lives of their Indian friends – the movie received poor reviews and was nominated for two Stinker Awards for Worst Sequel and The Sequel Nobody Was Clamoring For.
Michael’s final role before he gave-up acting was in 1993, when he played an extra (uncredited appearance) in the action crime movie “Best of the Best II” which starred Eric Roberts, Phillip Rhee and Chris Penn, and which follows Rhee and Roberts who are fighting in the Colosseum arena. In 1994, Michael was invited to portray the lead character in the movie “3 Ninjas Kick Back” but he refused as he wanted to focus solely on practicing martial arts, and the role eventually went to Sean Fox – it’s also rumoured that he chose not to appear in the film because of the reception of “3 Ninjas: Knuckle Up”.
He has since been working in the field of financial services in Washington, D. C.
Love life and relationships
Michael hasn’t talked about his personal matters, nor any girls he might have dated, however, many of his fans have stated to have seen him walking with a woman in the streets of Washington, D. C., and that they were followed by (presumably) their two children. Pictures to support the claims haven’t been provided, and it is not known whether the man was really Michael or someone else – Michael hasn’t taken the time to address the rumors.
Another rumor has it that he met his other half while attending university, and that the two have been together since without exchanging vows. According to these rumors, the girl is also a martial artist, and they were introduced by a mutual friend at a university party.
As he hasn’t commented on any of the rumors, Michael is presumed still single as of August 2020, hasn’t married and doesn’t have children.
Hobbies and other interests
Michael is still practicing martial arts, while he also goes to the gym several times each week.
