Who is Victoria Wyndham?
Victoria ‘Wyndham’ Camargo was born in Chicago, Illinois USA, on 22 May 1945 – her zodiac sign is Gemini and she holds American nationality. She is an actress, who is perhaps still best known for her portrayal of the lead character Rachel Cory in the romantic series “Another World”, which aired from 1964 to 1999. and which counted 4047 episodes – Victoria joined the main cast in 1972. The series also starred Constance Ford and Hugh Marlowe, and followed the (complicated) lives of people living in Bay City – it won 43 awards and was nominated for 176 others, including one Primetime Emmy.

Victoria retired from acting in 2007, and is today leading a peaceful life – she occasionally paints and sells her pictures on the internet. She has launched a website on which one can see some of the pictures she has painted.
Early life and education
Victoria was raised alongside her older sister, Felice Camargo in Chicago by their Mexican-American father, Ralph Camargo who was an actor, and their mother Florence Skeels who was a housewife – Felice was also an actress before retiring in the ‘50s.
While attending elementary school, Victoria’s parents asked her if she would like to join the school’s drama club, and Victoria soon fell in love with acting, and started appearing in the plays performed at school.
She attended a local high school at which she continued acting, while also being very sporting as she played badminton and table tennis. Upon matriculation in 1963, Victoria studied acting at a theatre in Los Angeles, California, and graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in 1967.
Career as an actress
Victoria had actually launched her career in 1965, when she appeared in the play “Fiddler on the Roof”, and then went on to perform cabaret for the next two years with her friend Lily Tomlin.
She made her debut TV series appearance in 1967, when she appeared as Charlotte Waring Fletcher Bauer in a single episode of the romantic series “Guiding Light”, and then appeared in another episode in 1969.
After she became famous in the US thanks to her role in “Another World”, Victoria was invited to appear in numerous TV shows and specials, starting with the “4th Annual Daytime Emmy Awards” in 1977 – she wasn’t nominated for any awards at the event, however, she attended The 5th Annual Daytime Emmy Awards in the following year, and was nominated for an award for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series. She also attended the Soapy Awards, winning Outstanding Actress. In 1979, Victoria was nominated for another Daytime Emmy Award for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series.
In 1982, Victoria guest starred in a single episode of the reality TV series “Hour Magazine”, and in 1989 appeared in the TV special “The 16th Annual Daytime Emmy Awards”. In 1994, she was in a single episode of the talk show “Pure Soap”, and then appeared in the romantic film “50 Years of Soaps: An All-Star Celebration”.
In 1995, Victoria guest starred in a single episode of the talk show “Leeza” and then went on to star as Kay Nealy in the thriller movie “Terror in the Shadows” which also starred Genie Francis and Leigh McCloskey and which is about a woman who kills a man’s wife and their adoptive child, then after she escapes from a mental institution in which she was held for years, she goes hunting for the man’s new wife and their daughter.
In 1998, Victoria appeared in an episode of the talk show “Today”, and the following years saw her appear in two TV specials – “The 16th Annual Soap Opera Awards” (2000), and “The Another World Reunion” (2003).
Her final role before she retired from acting was in the 2007 episode “Scheherazade” of the crime mystery series “Law & Order: Special Victims Unit”, in which she played Rita Colino.
Love life and husband
Victoria has always preferred to keep her personal matters to herself, and it wasn’t revealed until years later that she married Wendell Minnick, a non-celebrity man, sometime in the ‘70s.
On 7 July 1971, she gave birth to their son Christian Camargo, who has become an actor, film writer and director, and who became famous in the US after he portrayed Brian Moser in the crime mystery series “Dexter” – Christian welcomed his son and Victoria’s grandson Elan Jacobus Camargo on 16 November 2019. In 1974 Victoria gave birth to her second son, Darian Minnick who has become a photographer.
In 2002, it was announced on the internet that Victoria had divorced her husband, for unknown reasons, and she hasn’t since been noticed with any other men – there are rumors circulating the internet that she was in a long-term relationship with her high school sweetheart before meeting her now ex-husband, and that they dated for nearly four years before splitting ways.
As of August 2020, Victoria is single, was once married and has two sons.
Hobbies and other interests
Victoria likes to spend her free time in nature surrounded by trees and animals as can be concluded from the pictures she uploads onto her Instagram account – she has her own sort-of-a ranch and has a horse at it which can be seen featured in many of her pictures. She is a huge lover of animals, and besides her horse also has a couple of dogs as well as a parrot called Kyrie.
Victoria is in love with colors which is only one of the reason why she likes flowers – her favorite season is autumn due to its colors.
She has her own favorite actors and actresses, some of whom are Bruce Willis, Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie, and some of the movies she likes to watch the most are “Pulp Fiction”, “Mr. and Mrs. Smith” and “Meet Joe Black”.
