Childhood and education
Katia was raised in Los Angeles alongside her older brother John David and her younger twin brother and sister Malcolm and Olivia by their father and their mother Pauletta Washington, who is an American actress and musician, known for her works in the music department of the movies “Philadelphia” and “Antwone Fisher”.
Katia became interested in reading poems while attending elementary school, and set out to start writing her own, winning many competitions with her writings.

Katia was also interested in dance, and started taking lessons at the age of 10. She dreamed about becoming a nurse, but the film industry soon dragged her in, which was somewhat inevitable who her parents are.
Katia still focused on her education, and enrolled at Yale University in 2006, graduating with a Bachelor’s degree in history in 2010.
Career as a film producer
Katia launched her film career in 2012, when she served as a production assistant and editorial production assistant for the critically acclaimed western drama film “Django Unchained”, written and directed by Quentin Tarantino, and which starred Jamie Foxx, Leonardo DiCaprio and Christoph Waltz – it follows a freed slave planning to save his wife who is a slave of a plantation owner in Mississippi. The movie is ranked #58 best movie of all time by the website IMDb, and it won 59 awards including two Oscars, while it was nominated for 156 other awards.
Katia went on to work as an assistant on the 2014 action crime thriller film “The Equalizer” which starred her father, and in 2016 as an assistant on the biographical historical film “The Birth of a Nation”, and an associate producer on the critically acclaimed drama film “Fences”, written by August Wilson, and directed by her father who also starred in the film alongside Viola Davis and Stephen McKinley Henderson – the film is about a man raising his children with his wife in the US in the ‘50s. It was a hit, winning 57 awards including an Oscar, while it was nominated for 115 other awards.
Two of Katia’s most recent works have been on the 2018 action crime comedy “Assassination Nation” which she co-produced, and the 2020 drama “Pieces of a Woman” of which she was a co-executive producer – she has recently been invited to serve as the co-executive producer of the upcoming drama film “Malcolm & Marie”, written and directed by Sam Levinson.
Since 2018, Katia has been working as a production executive at Bron Studios.

He is rated one of the best actors of all time, and has won 17 National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP) Image Awards, two Academy Awards, a Tony Award and three Golden Globes.
He was raised in Mount Vernon alongside his brother David and sister Lorice, by their mother Lynne who was the owner of a beauty parlor, and their father Denzel Hayes Washington Sr. who worked at the New York City Water Department. Denzel studied at Pennington-Grimes Elementary school – his parents divorced while he was attending his final year there, so he was sent to attend Oakland Military Academy, a private preparatory school, and then studied at Mainland High School. Denzel wanted to attend Texas Tech University, but found himself enrolled at Fordham University from which he graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in drama and journalism in 1977.
