Julia Rose Lester was born in Los Angeles, California USA, on 28 January 2000 – her zodiac sign is Aquarius and she holds American nationality. She is an actress who might be known best for her portrayal of Ashlyn Caswell in the musical comedy series “High School Musical: The Musical – The Series”, created by Tim Federle, and which has been airing since 2019. It stars Olivia Rodrigo, Joshua Bassett and Matt Cornett, and follows the lives of teenagers attending the school at which the movie franchise “High School Musical” was shot – the series has recently been nominated for a Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation Media Award for Outstanding Kids & Family Programming.

Julia was raised alongside her sisters Lily and Jenny in Woodland Hills, Los Angeles, by their father Loren Lester who is a famous actor, known for having voiced Dick Grayson and Robin in the DC Comics’ movies, and their mother Kelly who is a theatre actress – both of Julia’s sisters are also actresses.
Julia became interested in acting while attending elementary school, and was motivated by her father to practice it, and to one day become famous. She launched her career at the age of 11, when she starred as Young Cherie in the short movie “The One Who Got Away”, and upon completing her elementary education, Julia enrolled at Calabasas High School at which she was mostly focused on acting, but also pursued good grades.
After matriculating in 2018, she enrolled at a college which she is still attending – Julia should be graduating in 2022.
Roles in movies and theatre plays
In 2014, Julia played Mona in the comedy film “Neckpee Island”, written by Tom Burkhard and Matt Dearborn, and which starred Cooper Roth, Cade Sutton and Jacob Bertrand – it follows a 14 year-old boy who has to fight against numerous mutant raccoon soldiers, after his family moves to the small abandoned island of Neckpee.
Julia’s only other film credit is when she portrayed Annie, one of the lead characters in the 2020 short movie “Annie Minerals, Teen Therapist”, written and directed by Brad Griffith, and which is about a teenager who is dreaming about becoming a therapist.
Julia made her debut stage performance in 2017, when she was the narrator of the musical comedy “Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat”, performed at the Kavli Theatre in Thousand Oaks. Her next role was playing Little Red Ridinghood in the musical “Into the Woods”, performed at the Cupcake Theatre in Los Angeles, and two of her other roles in plays have been in the rock musical “Next to Normal”, performed at Hillcrest Center For The Arts in Thousand Oaks, and the musical “Calvin Berger” played at Hudson Backstage Theatre in Hollywood.
Roles in TV series
Julia made her debut TV series appearance in 2016, when invited to play Gracie Crenshaw in the episode “Bella in the Spotlight” of the family comedy “Bella and the Bulldogs”. She gained recognition a year later after voicing one of the lead characters Bebe Schuman in the short animated action series “Spirit Riding Free”, created by Aury Wallington, and which also starred Amber Frank and Bailey Gambertoglio.
Also in 2017, Julia played Emily in three episodes of the critically acclaimed romantic comedy “Mom”, and a year later portrayed Smith in the episode “Revenge of the Smith” of the family action comedy “The Thundermans”.
She went on to play supporting character Ingrid in the comedy series “Mr. Student Body President”, created by Ryan Hunter, and which starred Jeremy Shada, Arden Rose and Gabriel Conte – the series is about Tyler Prendergast who is the student body president of Berenger High, ready to do whatever it takes to keep his position, and it won two awards and was nominated for six others.
Two of Julia’s most recent roles in TV series have been in 2019, in the episodes “Acting a Fool” and “Warehouse Towel Fight!” of the family comedy “Prince of Peoria”, and the episode “Why Tonya” of another family comedy – “Game Shakers”.
Love life and boyfriend
Julia is very secretive when it comes to her love life, and hasn’t talked about any boys she might have dated which is why there are several rumors circulating the internet regarding her past and present relationships.
Many people believe that Julia is in a secret relationship with Frankie A. Rodriguez, who played Carlos in “High School Musical: The Musical – The Series”. The two seemed very close to one another during the shooting of the series, as well as at the various red carpet events that they attended together, however, Frankie is openly gay. There are also rumors claiming that Julia might be dating a mysterious boy, as several of her fans have claimed to have seen them together walking hand in hand in the streets of Los Angeles, but Julia hasn’t commented on the rumors.

Julia is a singer and a dancer who is passionate about playing the guitar – she began practicing at the age of six, while today she can also play the piano.
