Who is Zach Herron?
Zachary Herron was born in Dallas, Texas USA, on 27 May 2001 – his zodiac sign is Gemini and he holds American nationality. He is a pop singer who might best be known for being a member of the five-boy band Why Don’t We, while he has also launched his solo career with the release of his debut single “Timelapse”.
Early life and education
Zach was raised alongside his younger brother Ryan and sister Reese, by their father Josh Herron who has become active on the internet just to promote his son’s band, and their mother Myta who works at a local supermarket.
Zach became interested in singing at a very early age, and was enrolled at a singing school by his parents. He was praised for his talent and after he enrolled at a high school in Dallas, Zach went on to compete in numerous talent shows, and joined the school’s choir – he became one of the youngest members of the Septien Entertainment Group’s Master Select Program. Zach was also interested in acting, and practiced it with his school’s drama club, appearing in several plays performed there.
After matriculation in 2019, he decided not to attend college, but to focus on his career as a singer.
Career as a singer
On 27 September 2016, Zach with his four friends Jack Avery, Jonah Marais, Corbyn Besson and Daniel Seavey, formed the band Why Don’t We after around a year of meeting and practicing together – their debut single entitled “Taking You” came out on 7 October 2016, and was featured on their first extended play (EP) “Only the Beginning”, released on 25 November 2016.
In January 2017, the boys embarked on their first tour “Taking You Tour”, and on 21 April 2017, their new EP “Something Different” came out to mixed reviews – after its release, Why Don’t We started their new “Something Different Tour”.
On 2 June 2017, their third EP was released entitled “Why Don’t We Just”, and by the end of the year, the band had signed a contract with one of the most praised American record companies, Atlantic Records. They went on to release their new EP “Invitation”, and their latest EP “A Why Don’t We Christmas” came out on 23 November 2017, after which they embarked on their “Invitation Tour”.
Their debut studio album entitled “8 Letters” came out on 31 August 2018, to mostly poor reviews, but the boys nevertheless decided to go on their “8 Letters Tour” to promote the album – since then, they have released a new single every month, and are currently working on their second studio album set, to be released by the end of 2020.
When asked about their main inspiration, all the boys chose Justin Bieber, while they have also been influenced by Boyz 2 Men and Drake.
Social media star
Zach is a YouTuber who launched his channel on 1 March 2015, and it’s currently subscribed to by almost 300,000 people, and counts over 7.8 million views of all his videos combined. He has mostly uploaded cover songs, and his most popular video – “Stitches Cover || Zach Herron” – has been watched over 3.4 million times since 9 September 2016.
He is very popular on Instagram, as his account is followed by over 2.3 million people while he’s uploaded over 550 pictures onto it.
His Twitter account is followed by over almost 750,000 people, and Zach tends to tweet at least once every day. He is also active on TikTok, which is considered to be one of the most popular social media networks of today, but Zach is followed by less than 20,000 people.
Love life and girlfriend
In 2018, Zach started dating singer and a social media star Kay Cook, who is perhaps best known for her Instagram account, which is followed by over 170,000 people. The two could’ve been seen touring and spending most of their free time together, however, they split in August 2019 after Kay accused Zach of cheating.
Zach later wrote in a tweet ‘Don’t believe everything you hear, seriously hurt.’ and although the two didn’t talk for a month or two after their break-up, they went on to collaborate on Kay’s EP “What’s Meant to Stay”.
According to several of Zach’s fans, he might currently be dating a mysterious girl as a couple of people have supposedly seen them walking hand in hand, however, as Zach hasn’t commented on these rumors, he is single as of October 2020, hasn’t married and doesn’t have children.
Hobbies and other interests
Zach and the rest of the Why Don’t We boys are all physically active, as this is important for the image of their band – they usually exercise together several times each week at a gym, so as to further encourage one another.
Zach is a fan of fast cars, and is hoping to buy himself either a Ferrari or a Lamborghini in the future.
He is a supporter of the movement Black Lives Matter, and has attended a peaceful protest organized in Los Angeles, California.
Zach is interested in art, especially paintings, and has visited numerous museums and galleries.
In his spare time and mostly late at night, he likes to watch movies starring some of his favorite actors and actresses – Johnny Depp, Robert De Niro and Anne Hathaway – such as the franchise “The Pirates of the Caribbean”, the trilogy “The Godfather” and “Les Miserables”.
