Who is Lucas Till?
A five-time Teen Choice Award nominee, Lucas Till has over 40 acting credits to his name, however, the role that marked the beginning of his career was his portrayal of Travis Brody in the 2009 “Hannah Montana: The Movie”, which earned him his first two Teen Choice Award nominations, for the Choice Movie Actor: Music/Dance, and sharing a nomination with the star of the movie, Miley Cyrus, for Choice Movie Liplock.
Recently, he gained fame starring as Angus MacGyver in the action-adventure series “MacGyver”, which brought him two Teen Choice Award nominations for Choice TV Actor: Action, in 2018 and ’19.

Early life, family, and education
Born Lucas Daniel Till under the zodiac sign of Leo on 10 August 1990, in Fort Hood, Texas USA, he holds American nationality and comes from a family of German, Scottish and English descent. Although born in Fort Hood, Lucas spent most of his childhood days in Atlanta, Georgia, raised by his parents, John Mark, a Colonel in the US Army, and Dana, a chemist, alongside his brother Nick.
Lucas’ family noticed his affinity for impersonating characters and voices from an early age, so when he was 11 years old, his mother sent him to a local acting school. Lucas was soon discovered by Joy Pervis, an agent from the Atlanta Talent agency, and he featured in numerous commercials before he landed his first movie role.
When it comes to his educational background, Lucas attended Kell High School, and upon matriculating in 2008, he didn’t go to college but moved to Los Angeles, California to pursue his acting career.

Lucas made his professional acting debut as Harry Vanderbilt in the 2003 family drama “The Adventures of Ociee Nash”, starring Skyler Day. In the following year, he was seen as Jay Graves in “Lighting Bug”, written and directed by Robert Hall.
Lucas was next cast to play Young Jack Cash in the smash hit 2005 biographic drama “Walk the Line”, which chronicles the life of the country music legend, Johnny Cash, starring Joaquin Phoenix and Reese Witherspoon. The movie had 48 award nominations and 45 wins, including an Oscar for Best Performance by an Actress in a Leading Role (Reese Witherspoon).

In the following years, Lucas co-starred in “The Other Side” (2006), “Dance of the Dead” (2008), and “Laid to Rest” (2009) before he landed his breakthrough role as Travis Brody in “Hannah Montana: The Movie”, which followed the story of a teenage girl who is secretly a pop star. To give her a perspective on what really matters in life, her father takes her on a vacation to his Tennessee hometown. The movie had 11 award nominations and six wins.
Lucas was next seen as Larry in the 2010 comedy “The Spy Next Door”, starring Jackie Chan, followed by his role as Scott Grayson in “Battle Los Angeles” in 2011.
Later that year, Lucas was cast to play Alex Summers/Havok in the science-fiction action “X-Men: First Class”, also starring James McAvoy, Jennifer Lawrence, and Michael Fassbender. The movie set in the ’60s follows super-powered humans Erik and Charles who search for others like them. It had 39 award nominations and won 21, and when it comes to Lucas’ performance, he and his co-stars were nominated for the Teen Choice Award – Choice Movie Chemistry.
In the following years, Lucas was seen in “Someone Like You” (2012), “Stoker” (2013), and “Dark Hearts” (2014) before he reprised his role as Havok in “X-Men: Days of Future Past”, which was a huge success. This sequel, starring Hugh Jackman, Ian McKellen, and Patrick Stewart, had 48 award nominations, including one for Oscar (Best Achievement in Visual Effects), and 16 wins.
Later in 2014, Lucas landed his first lead role, in the horror “Kristy”, starring opposite Ashley Greene and Haley Bennett. The movie was nominated for iHorror Award- Best Sleeper Horror. It seems that 2014 was a good year for Lucas’ career, since he landed another lead role in the action fantasy horror “Wolves”. It followed the story of a boy trying to learn about his family’s history, who comes into the town of Lycans (people who transform into wolves). Lucas’s co-stars were John Pyper-Ferguson, Stephen McHattie and Jason Momoa.
Lucas followed with roles in “Bravetown” (2015) and “X-Men: Apocalypse” (2016), while most recently he was seen as Bob Zeliner in the 2020 biographic drama “Son of the South”, which followed the true story of a young White boy who had to choose which side he was on during Civil Rights Movement, held in summer 1961. Although the movie had no nominations, the audience rated it as a ‘unique perspective on historical events’.

Lucas made his first television series appearance as Simon in an episode of the hit series “House” in 2008. He followed with guest roles in “Medium” (2009), “Blue Mountain State” (2010), and “Comedy Bang! Bang!” in 2014.
From 2016 through 2021, he was seen in 95 episodes of the series “MacGyver” starring as Angus, who works for a secret organization within the US government, and who saves lives thanks to his unconventional problem-solving skills. Lucas’ co-stars were Justin Hires and Tristin Mays. The show had eight nominations total, including one for the Primetime Emmy, and won five.
Lucas will be seen in the announced drama series “The Spook Who Sat by the Door”, which is set to premiere late in 2023.
Love life and relationships
Lucas has been the subject of various rumors about his romantic life, however, he revealed what everyone wanted to know. Lucas admitted that he dated Miley Cyrus while they were filming “Hannah Montana: The Movie”, but that their relationship didn’t last longer than two months.
In 2010, Lucas was in a relationship with Debby Ryan, an actress known best for her roles in Disney series. When the two broke up, Lucas began dating Kayslee Collins, also an actress and singer. The two were together for two years.
During 2012 and 2013, Lucas was in a relationship with Carlson Young, an actress probably known best for her role in the series “As the Bell Rings”.
It seems that growing up, Lucas decided to keep his romantic life secret. As of May 2023, it seems that he’s single and he hasn’t been married or engaged.
