Who is Trevor Moran?
Trevor Moran was born as Trevi Michaela Moran, in Poway, California USA, on 30 September 1998 – his zodiac sign is Libra and he holds American nationality. He is a YouTuber, TV personality, singer and a recording artist, who gained recognition after appearing in the music competition show “The X Factor”.
Childhood and education
Trevor was raised alongside his brother Blake, by their father Tim Moran who is a businessman, and their mother Nicole who is a housewife.
He became interested in dancing at a very early age, and started taking lessons at the age of five – Trevor went on to make numerous videos featuring him dancing, and uploaded them onto his first YouTube channel.

He was also interested in acting, and was a member of his high school’s drama club, appearing in many plays performed at the school. Trevor was bullied somewhat during his teenage years for his strange behavior and looks, and he found comfort in music and dancing. Upon matriculation in 2016, he chose not to enroll at college, but to focus on his career.
Trevor’s career
He launched his singing career in September 2013 when he released his single “Someone”, followed by his second single “The Dark Side” in December that year, which made its way onto the Billboard Dance/Electronic Digital Songs Chart.
His third single, “Echo” came out in June 2014, soon followed by three more singles – “Stay”, “Now or Never” and “XIAT” (read “anxiety”). On 9 December 2014, his debut extended play (EP) came out entitled “XIAT”, and it topped the US Heat Chart.
Trevor released another single, “I Wanna Fly” in June 2015, and on 22 January 2016 his second EP came out, entitled “Alive” comprising three songs – “Alive”, “Cold Soul” and “Got Me Feelin’ Like”. He released the single “Get Me Through the Night” in September 2016, and in December 2017 another single, “Sinner”. Most recently on 3 July 2020, his third EP “Freedom” hit the streets.
Trevor is also a YouTuber – he launched his channel on 21 July 2009, and it today counts over 1.4 million subscribers, and more than 100 million views of all his videos combined. He mostly uploads his music videos, while people can also find a couple of vlogging videos on his channel – his most popular video – “EXPOSING THE X FACTOR” – has been watched over 3.7 million times since 2 September 2016.
Career as a TV personality
Trevor has appeared in several documentaries and talk-shows, but has been credited with only a single acting performance – in 2017 he appeared in a single episode of the comedy series “Hey Qween”, which stars Jonny McGovern, Lady Red Couture and Greg McKeon, and follows interviewers as they talk to members of the LGBT community.
In 2014, he was in two episodes of the talk-show “Astronauts@”, which follows social media stars reporting from various events such as MagCon, Vidcon and Governor’s Ball. In the same year, Trevor appeared in the documentary film “Jack & Jack the Movie” which follows the lives of two famous Viners (people who were active on the now-defunct network Vine). The year 2015 saw him appear in the biographical documentary music movie “#O2LForever”, written and directed by Michael Goldfine, and which is about how YouTube has helped numerous people become millionaires.
In 2016, Trevor was invited to appear in the talk-show “Shane & Friends”, as well as in another talk-show “Zall Good”.
His most recent appearance has been in a 2017 episode of the talk-show “Apologies in Advance with Andrea Russett”.
Love life and relationships. Is he gay?
As his birth name suggests, ‘Trevor’ was born as a girl, but on 9 October 2015, he uploaded a video onto his YouTube channel stating that he’s gay, although he questioned whether or not he’s transgender, eventually concluding that he was only gay.
However, most recently he uploaded another video onto his YouTube channel on 6 June 2020, stating that he’s transgender, and that he had already started transitioning surgically two months earlier.
He is more or less secretive when it comes to his love life, but it is known that he was once in a relationship with Lia Marie Johnson who is a YouTuber and a musician – they only dated for a couple of months before Trevor came out as gay. It is also known that he was once romantically linked to Ricky Dillon, a YouTuber and singer-songwriter.
As of October 2020, Trevor is single, hasn’t married and doesn’t have children.
Hobbies and other interests
Trevor is a huge lover of animals, with dolphins being his favorites, but he has two pet cats called Lily and Little, two pet dogs called Tucker and Charlie, and a pet tortoise.
He likes to travel, and his career has already taken him to various US states, while Trevor has also been to London in England and Paris in France.
He is a philanthropist who is urging people to donate to charity organizations working with underprivileged children, while he’s also a supporter of the LGBT community, and has walked at several Pride events.
Trevor likes to read books in his spare time – his favorite is “The Fault in Our Stars” written by John Green – and to watch movies starring some of his favorite actors and actresses – Heath Ledger, Angelina Jolie and Natalie Portman – such as “The Brokeback Mountain”, “Lara Croft: Tomb Raider – The Cradle of Life” and “Leon: The Professional”.
