Jackson A. Dunn was born in San Diego, California USA, on 9 December 2003 – his zodiac sign is Sagittarius and he holds American nationality. He is an actor, who gained recognition after he portrayed the titular “Brightburn” in the eponymous horror mystery movie in 2019, which also starred Elizabeth Banks and David Denman, and which is about a boy who comes from another planet, but instead of becoming a superhero becomes a villain, threatening to kill many people on Earth. The movie was nominated for a Golden Trailer Award for Best Horror (Sony Pictures Entertainment (SPE) and Ignition Entertainment Limited).
Childhood and education
Jackson was raised as an only child in San Diego, by his father who is an accountant and his mother who is a theatre actress; Jackson won his first acting role at the age of four, when he portrayed the Grinch in a school play. He joined his elementary school’s drama club as soon as he enrolled, and after he began attending high school, he started appearing in school plays, and became physically active playing both football and soccer. He is still attending high school, and will be matriculating in 2021 but apparently isn’t planning to enroll at college as he will be focusing on his acting career.
Career as an actor
Jackson made his debut TV series appearance in 2014, when he portrayed Young Jessie Ernst in the episode “Stand Out & It Runs in the Family” of the documentary biographical crime series “Killer Kids”, which starred Misty Lee, Gilles Ouimet and Christian Page, and which is about teens in the US who grow up to become serial killers.
In 2015, he played Will in three episodes of the critically acclaimed comedy series “Shameless”, which starred Emmy Rossum and William H. Marcy, and which was a huge success, as it won 14 awards and was nominated for 66 others, including two Golden Globes.
In the same year, Jackson guest starred as Rodney in the episode “Henry & The Bad Girl, Part 1” of the action comedy series “Henry Danger”, which won 14 awards and was nominated for 14 others.
In 2016, he was invited to appear in the TV special “Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Sports 2016”, before portraying the supporting character Elmer in five episodes of the comedy series “Legendary Dudes”, which was created by Kevin Jakubowski, but which ended after airing six episodes. The year 2017 saw him portray Dino in the episode “Somewhere Out There” of the action adventure series “Colony”, which starred Josh Holloway and Sarah Wayne Callies, and is about a family who is fighting together against aliens which are invading Earth.
He went on to play Young Colin Croyle in the mystery western movie “The Scent of Rain & Lightning”, directed by Blake Robbins and written by Nancy Pickard and Casey Twenter, and is about a woman who is trying to find out who really killed her parents, as she believes the police imprisoned the wrong man.
Jackson portrayed White Boy 2 in the pilot episode of the comedy sport series “GLOW”, which is about several women who are working for a wrestling organization in the ‘80s – it was a huge success, as it won 11 awards and was nominated for 82 others, including two Golden Globes.

He was then Noah in the episode “A Man of Letters” of the comedy crime series “Get Shorty”, and the following year played Henry in the western action movies “Gone Are The Days”, which starred Lance Henriksen and Tom Berenger, and which follows an old man who is planning on dying ‘in a blaze of glory’. Jackson went on to appear as Scott Lang in the critically acclaimed action adventure movie “Avengers: Endgame”, which starred Robert Downey Jr., Chris Evans and Mark Ruffalo, and which follows the Avengers as they are trying to kill Thanos once and for all. The film won 65 awards, and was nominated for 104 others including an Oscar.
Jackson has recently been cast to appear in the drama movie “Vegas High”, about a Mormon girl who is attracted by the Las Vegas lifestyle; it’s set to be released in the second half of 2020.
He has also appeared as himself in the talk show “Comic Book Shopping”, the short documentary film “Brightburn: Nature vs. Nurture”, and another short documentary film “Brightburn: Hero Horror”, all released in 2019.
Love life and relationships
Although Jackson has been keeping the details of his past and present relationships to himself, most assume that he is still too young to be dating. However, some of his fans have claimed to have seen the actor with a mysterious girl on multiple occasions – it’s believed that they met on the internet after she messaged Jackson on Instagram.
Jackson has recently uploaded a picture with the same girl onto his Instagram account, and has referred to her as his ‘cheesecake’, and it’s believed that they have been together for nearly a year now.
Hobbies and other interests
Jackson is physically very active, and although he doesn’t like to go to the gym, he is playing a variety of sports including football, soccer and basketball. He is an avid skateboarder, and has been skating since he was five; he also knows how to snowboard and ski, which is why winter is his favorite season. He goes for a run twice a week, and is keen on cycling, while some of his other hobbies are writing, spending time with his friends and family, and listening to music.
Pop is his favorite music genre and some of the people he likes to listen to the most are Justin Bieber, Drake and Katty Perry.
