Through his mother, he has African-American and Jewish roots, and through his father he has Native Hawaiian, Irish, German and Native American roots – his nationality is American. His long name isn’t uncommon in his ancestors’ island state, Hawaii, as Hawaiians tend to have a lot longer names than is common in most of the continental US. His name has also been the talk of the town, as many people joked about how he will manage to find enough space to place his signatures, or if it fitted onto his birth certificate and other official documents.
In fact, his name, Nakoa-Wolf Manakaupo Namakaeha has an equally long story behind it, as is with most of Hawaiian names. According to Lisa Bonet, his mother, on the day that she gave birth to him the weather was terrible, and just seconds after the birth was over clouds turned to a storm which made her make an instant decision about his name. Nakoa means “warrior”, Wolf is self-explanatory, Mana means “strength” and “spirit”, Kaua means “rain” and Po means “dark”. His middle name, Namakaeha, means “all-knowing eyes”, and he shares it with his father. The surname Momoa means “dry” in Polynesian.
Parents and Family
Nakoa-Wolf’s father is Jason Momoa, a Hollywood actor that became known for his roles in many superhero movies, including “Batman vs. Superman: Dawn of Justice” from 2016, “Justice League” (2017), and 2018’s DC movie “Aquaman”. He was also part of the cast of the television series “Stargate Atlantis” that aired from 2004 to 2009, “Frontier” that premiered in 2016 and is still ongoing as of first half of 2020, and he also played the well-known role of Khal Drogo, Daenerys Targarien’s savage husband, in the first season of one of the biggest epic fantasy series, “Game of Thrones”. Nakoa-Wolf’s mother is actress Lisa Michelle Bonet, known also as Lilakoi Moon.
She was a model seen in numerous beauty pageants, and was also a child star before she landed the role of Denise Huxtable in the sitcom “The Cosby Show”, for which she is remembered even today. She also played a prominent role in its spinoff, “A Different World”, during the show’s first season.
Nakoa-Wolf has an older sister called Lola Iolani Momoa, who was born on 23rd July 2007 in Canada, as Lisa’s water broke early while Jason was filming, so they had to rush to the nearest hospital for her to deliver safely. He also has an older step-sister on his mother’s side, Zoe Isabella Kravitz, who was welcomed on this world on 1st December 1988.
Zoe’s father is rock singer Lenny Kravitz, whom her mother met several years before Zoe’s birth. However, Lisa and Lenny parted ways and divorced after six years of marriage in 1993, and Lisa met Jason Momoa in 2005. The couple tied the knot two years later, three months after Lola Iolani was born. The duo tried to keep their relationship a secret for as long as possible, but the news of Lisa’s pregnancy and their love affair spread quickly.
Zoe Isabella got engaged to Karl Glusman in February 2018, with whom she was in a relationship since 2016.
Career
It’s still not sure whether or not Nakoa-Wolf will go on to become an actor like his parents, but his eldest sister, Zoe Kravitz, has already insured her place in the spotlight by starring in movies such as “Mad Max: Fury Road”, “Rough Night” and “Divergent”. She will also play the role of Catwoman in 2021’s version of “Batman”. Still, Nakoa-Wolf had his small acting debut when he played Wolf in the 2019 movie “Mystery Boys”.
Personal Life
Despite being the second born child of the famous couple, Nakoa-Wolf has always gained more attention than his older sibling, and this is mostly because he looks a lot like his father, even in style. He prefers keeping his hair long and wild, and seems to copy his father’s fashion sense. According to sources, as of March 2020, Nakoa-Wolf lives in Topanga in Los Angeles, in a big, family house that has a lot of pets but no TV device.
He has travelled across the world with his family due to his parent’s careers. He loves outdoor activities, such as rock climbing, fishing and bike riding. Nakoa-Wolf has a close relationship with all of his siblings, as well as his parents, as he is often seen on all of their social media, together with Lola Iolani.
In 2020, Nakoa-Wolf himself still doesn’t have any social media accounts, which isn’t surprising as he is only 11 years old. However, he can be seen on several of his father’s posts, as Jason Momoa has a rather large following on Instagram, Facebook and YouTube. Still, Jason does his best to hide his son from unwanted publicity. It even isn’t known if and where Nakoa-Wolf goes to school.
Net Worth
Nakoa-Wolf is still just a child, so it isn’t possible to provide you with his net worth. However he comes from a rich family, as his father’s net worth is estimated at over $14 million, and still growing.
Physical characteristics
Nakoa-Wolf has green eyes and long, brown, curly hair. He loves to dress like his father, which includes causal unbuttoned shirts and lots of jewelry. He is still a child, so his exact height and weight aren’t known and, as his father has a rather big stature of 6ft 4ins (1.93m), are likely to change a lot in the following years.
