Seymour ‘Sy’ Kravitz was born in Brooklyn, New York City USA on 10 December 1924 – his zodiac sign was Sagittarius and he held American nationality. He was a filmmaker and a newspapers producer who worked for the NBC channel. Sy died on 29 October 2005 at the age of 80 from leukemia.
Early life and education
Sy was raised alongside his older brother Leonard in Brooklyn by their father who was working at a telecommunications company, and their mother who was a housewife. Leonard would fight in the Korean War and die in action, while Sy became a Green Beret.
Sy became interested in movies at a very early age, and had ideas about what kind of movies he would make rather than wanting to only star in them.

He attended a local high school where he was a member of the school’s drama club, and was also physically active as he played both football and soccer. Upon matriculation, he enrolled at a college, graduating with a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1946.
Career as a filmmaker and other ventures
Sy worked on numerous movies during his career, but has today only been credited with appearing as himself in the documentary film “Sid Bernstein Presents…” which came out in 2010, five years after Sy died. It was both written and directed by Jason Ressler and Evan Strome, and starred Paul Anka, Adam Bernstein and Beau Bernstein, and is about Sid who brought The Beatles to the US. The movie also shows interviews with various celebrities such as Shirley MacLaine, The Moody Blues and Dick Clark among others.
Sy was also covering the most important news for the American channel NBC, as he was writing for their newspapers and was with them until he died.
Love life and relationships
In 1960, Sy met Roxie Albertha Roker, who was born in Miami, Florida USA, on 28 August 1929, and who was an actress best known for her role as Helen Willis in the comedy series “The Jeffersons”, for which she was shooting between 1975 and 1985. They married in 1963 in a small ceremony attended by their closest friends and family, and on 26 May 1964, Albertha gave birth to their son Leonard Albert ‘Lenny’ Kravitz who is today a famous singer, songwriter and actor. Sy and Albertha divorced in 1985, and she died 10 years later on 2 December 1995.
Before meeting Albertha in 1945, Sy met a lady named Erika, and they married in 1948 with only their best man and woman attending. In the first five years of their marriage, Erika gave birth to two of their children, but they then divorced in 1955 for unknown reasons – the children stayed with Erika.
Hobbies and other interests
Sy was interested in a variety of things, and was physically active until his late 50s, playing several sports and going to the gym two to four times per week just to stay in shape. He was interested in travelling, and had visited nearly all the US states, while the father of the famous singer could have also been seen in Europe, vacationing in countries such as England and Greece.
Sy was a lover of animals and had several pet dogs in his 30s and 40s, and was also a philanthropist who donated money to several charity organizations, but mostly those doing cancer research.
Sy enjoyed watching movies, and some of his favorite actors and actresses were Elvis Presley, James Stewart and Lana Turner, while some of his favorite movies were “Viva Las Vegas”, “It’s a Wonderful Life’, and “The Man Who Knew Too Much”.

Leonard Albert Kravitz was born in New York City USA – his zodiac sign is Gemini and he holds American nationality. He is best known for his music, and his style is a combination of rock, blues, reggae and jazz, among others.
Lenny wasn’t religious until he turned 13 and started going to church. He studied at P. S. 6 elementary school, while his first close encounter with music was in his mother’s kitchen where he hit the pots, plates, and other things in it. His favorite band was The Jacksons, and his parents supported his dream of becoming a musician as they were also fans of music and enjoyed listening to gospel, blues and jazz music.
When Lenny was 10, the family moved to Los Angeles after his mother won a role in a TV series, and Lenny became a member of the California Boys Choir after his mother insisted. He attended Beverly Hills High School, where he learned to play the piano and bass guitar.
