He has over 13 million subscribers on his YouTube channel and accumulated billions of views, most of which contribute to his wealth through the revenue Google gives him as a part of their advertising program. He’s also gained other opportunities thanks to his fame, including sponsorships, partnerships, and many more.

Early Life and Gaming Beginnings

At a young age, Lannan showed a strong interest and passion for gaming – one of his earliest was the video game “RuneScape”, which is considered a classic by many gamers of the early-2000s. The video game could be accessed through a browser, and over the years it’s received numerous updates, making it the world’s largest and most updated massively multi-player online role-playing game.

At the time, he used the online alias LazarBeam, which would be his inspiration for his YouTube name later on.

He was never really interested in school and showed no sign of doing well. At 15 years of age he dropped out of high school, preferring to work the family business. He was involved in his father’s construction videos, and it was during this period that he discovered the website YouTube, which at the time was just starting to gain popularity online.

YouTube Beginnings

YouTube is one of the most popular websites in the world, and responsible for helping elevate numerous online content creators known as YouTubers.

It is in a particular a large hub for video game content, as many video gamers found success online as seen with names such as PewDiePie. However, Eacott didn’t first start with gaming, as he created the YouTube channel CrushSlash to showcase videos of demolition work he recorded while on the job, done in slow motion. However, his work on the channel was eventually discontinued after his recording equipment was stolen.

He took a bit of time off and then returned to the site in 2015, creating a video game-focused channel LazarBeam. At first he began creating commentaries, challenge videos, and gameplay videos of the video game series “Madden NFL”, which is a simulation of the National Football League (NFL).

He then started shifting and experimenting with other games, but growth was slow, but he stayed diligent and continued working his channel for the next three years, until the advent of the video game “Fortnite Battle Royale”, which is responsible for his huge boost in fame and fortune.

Fortnite Success

“Fortnite Battle Royale” was created as a spin-off from the video game “Fortnite: Save the World”, intended to capitalize on the hype brought on by “PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds” of battle royale games. In “Fortnite”, players skydive onto an island with 100 competitors and must then look for gear, fighting against other players to hope to remain as the last person standing.

To help ensure faster games, the island’s area shrinks, leading players to eventual confrontation. The game received high praise and became a cultural phenomenon, elevating the stock of its company, Epic Games.

Its wave of fame also led to the popularity of various online content creators such as Ninja, with LazarBeam being one of the YouTubers at the forefront of the game’s wave of popularity. He quickly hit 10 million subscribers thanks to the game, becoming the first gaming content creator of Australian descent to do so. Following his rise, he became a part of a collective of Australian gaming personalities called The Click Crew.

He continued to play the game until sometime in 2019, when he took take a step back from it, after dissatisfaction with the game’s second chapter.

Recent Endeavors

Eacott continues to stay active and update his channel regularly, though he’s been more focused on the release of videos relating to the game “Minecraft”, the bestselling video game of all time; he’s been playing a lot more of it especially with the new updates to the game. In 2019, it was announced that he would be appearing as one of a few famous popular online content creators for the film “Free Guy”, which stars Ryan Reynolds. Other personalities who will appear in the film include Jacksepticeye and Ninja.

During the same year, LazarBeam was idnetified as one of the most viewed content creators of the year, mainly thanks to his popular editing style, and the use of comedy as well as memes.

The following year, he signed an exclusive contract with YouTube to stream for that platform, meaning that he would end all streaming association with Twitch for the duration of the contract. He signed the deal alongside fellow Australian YouTube personality Muselk, and the two celebrated the new contract by raising money for charity through a 12-hour stream. This effort helped donate funds to the bushfire relief efforts in Australia, following its devastating wildfires that affected a large portion of the country in late 2019 and early 2020.

Personal Life

Lannan is in a relationship with Instagram model and social media personality Ilsa Watkins. The two met through Ilsa’s sister Muselk, and began dating in 2019. He is the only member of his family to pursue a career online, as his sister became a photographer, while one of his brothers pursued professional baseball. Aside from his gaming endeavors, he does a lot of charity work, a way for him to give back after all the success he’s had on YouTube. Brian is 5ft 6ins (1.67m) tall and weighs approximately 134lbs (61kgs). Keep reading to learn about his childhood, private life, net worth, and more.

FaZe Rug’s Early Years

Born on 19th November 1996, in San Diego, California USA, Brian always dreamed of being a professional gamer.

https://www.instagram.com/p/CLsF4cQDmUy/

He launched his first YouTube channel in 2008, and uploaded a few videos with his older brother before becoming inactive. In 2012 he returned to the popular platform to upload gaming videos, and joined FaZe Clan months later in January 2013.

His Iraqi immigrant parents, who owned two liquor stores, had other ideas for their son, and wanted him to stay in college. However, Brian decided to keep working towards his goals, and is quoted as having said ‘…I started grinding even harder. I wanted to prove to them that this could be a career‘.

Just months later, Brian started earning thousands of dollars from his YouTube videos, so his parents let him take a semester off college when they saw how serious Brian was about this work.

FaZe Rug’s Vlogs

Brian started to make vlogs about his daily life, when he saw how many subscribers his YouTube channel attracted. His most viewed video is “Cocaine Prank” (January 2015) which currently has over 20 million views. He now has almost eighteen million subscribers, and over one billion video views in total.

Brian decided to vlog because he felt his family life was interesting and entertaining. He now uploads gaming videos on a separate channel entitled FaZe Rug Gaming, and keeps his main channel for pranks, reactions, and comedy videos. Brian’s other highly-rated videos are “I Filled my Swimming Pool with GIANT SNAKES!!” (August 2018), which has been liked over half a million times, and “Last to Drop iPhone Wins $10,000” (August 2019), with 367,000 likes.

Brian also has an altruistic side, and has made several videos in which he pays for strangers’ rent, gives chefs and fast-food workers large tips, and even gifts his father a luxury Lamborghini. Brian’s fans, friends and family love his generous personality.

Now all of Brian’s family have become YouTube content creators. His parents’ channel, Mama Rug and Pappa Rug, has 1.5 million subscribers, while his brother Brawadis counts with over five million.

FaZe Rug’s Private Life

Faze Rug has had two public girlfriends so far, Molly Eskam and Kaelyn.

Molly, aged 22, is a social media personality and model born in Nebraska, USA. She is mainly known for dating Brian, and from appearing on the cover of the July 2020 issue of Playboy Australia. She has over a million followers on Instagram, and also vlogs about her life on YouTube. Molly and Brian started dating in 2017, broke-up at the start of 2018, but apparently remain friends. She appears in many of Brian’s videos.

Brian and Kaelyn have also had a rocky and well-documented relationship throughout the years. In the past, the YouTuber has uploaded controversial videos of his ex-girlfriends meeting for the first time.

He also uploaded a video in which Molly and Kaelyn were handcuffed together for 24 hours. Kaelyn, known as @baeeeeelyn on social media, is a social media influencer and Fashion Nova model with over 400,000 followers.

Brian is open about his private life, and has made videos detailing the highs and lows of his relationships, even going so far as to record the first kiss he shared with Molly.

FaZe Rug and Acting

Brian’s acting debut was playing the main role as himself in the horror movie “Crimson”, directed by Gregory Plotkin, which premiered in October 2020, and is available exclusively on the new streaming platform Inviz.

The first trailer was released on 16th October 2020, and Brian is quoted as saying in an interview, ‘…I get scared super easy, but I think that’s what makes it more fun to watch’.

“Crimson” is the first of many movies that FaZe Clan is looking to release, having previously launched a film and tv studio, and also partnered with Quibi for a reality show entitled “Faze Up”. The plot revolves around a social media influencer, who moves into a new multimillion-dollar home, and discovers that his neighbors are clowns.

Despite the hype, “Crimson” has not been a successful or well-received movie, with user reviews on IMDb deeming it a waste of money, and blasting Brian for his acting. It’s currently unknown what the budget for the movie was, or how much it has made.

FaZe Rug’s Net Worth

So what is Brian’s real net worth? Sources estimate that as of late 2020 it’s over $7 million, a figure which will increase as he is reputedly set to earn over $3 million this year alone. His monetized YouTube videos, the main source of his income, are viewed at least three million times a day.

Brian likes to try new things, and released his first hip-hop single, “Goin’ Live”, in January 2020. The music video has accumulated 13 million views, and many streamers and fellow YouTubers made reaction videos giving their opinion. Many wondered if Brian was going to try a music career, but he’s said that the song was made as a joke, which rules out any future music.

It will be interesting to watch how his career develops.

However, don’t forget Brian is also a part-owner of FaZe Clan, an esports company endorsed by celebrities such as Migos rapper Offset and Jimmy Iovine, the billionaire co-founder of Interscope. His varied business ventures include Chug Rug, which is Brian’s energy drink flavor, acting, and merchandise. Thanks to his multiple streams of income he is expected to be worth eight figures in the next few years, an impressive feat for someone so young and a reminder of what you’re capable of when you pursue your passions in life.

How rich is xQc (aka xQcOW)? What is his salary? Net Worth

Published

on

What is xQc’s real name?

Felix Lengyel   XQc, also known as xQcOW – was born in Laval, Quebec, Canada, on 12 November 1995 – his zodiac sign is Scorpio, he is of French descent, and holds Canadian nationality. He is a former professional “Overwatch” player, a social media star and a Twitch streamer, who is today perhaps known best for his Twitch channel onto which he mostly livestreams while playing the video game “Overwatch”.

Early life and education

XQc was raised in Laval alongside his brother Nicolas – their parents divorced when xQc was only a year old, after which the boys spent equal time with their mother and their father.

https://www.instagram.com/p/B_cBH6dJ6yw/

XQc grew up being interested in various sports, his two favorites being skateboarding and snowboarding – knowing that these sports are dangerous, his parents agreed to let him skateboard and snowboard only if he wore his knee pads and helmets. At around the same time, xQc became interested in playing video games, and often played against his peers.

Upon matriculating in 2013, xQc enrolled at the post-secondary pre-university collegiate technical college CEGEP at which he studied humanities, but then switched to administration – he dropped out just before graduation to focus on his career as a gamer and Twitch streamer.

Career as a professional gamer

XQc initially wanted to play the video game “League of Legends”, and mostly livestreamed it on Twitch, however, after learning about “Overwatch”, he began playing that instead, and soon found himself competing with and against professional e-Sport players.

He started off by playing for the semi-professional team DatZit Gaming as their main tank, and on 13 August 2016, the boys won the Dreamhack Montreal 2016 Overwatch tournament. XQc left the team not long afterwards, and moved to the team Q?, which was on 12 October 2016 bought by Denial eSports, a former professional e-Sports organization based in the US.

Denial failed to pay its players, and as xQc has stated, they owed them $2,800 each when the team disbanded. The boys went on to form their own team, calling themselves YIKES! before changing it to Arc.6 – they qualified to compete in Season Zero of Overwatch Contenders, but lost during the group stage. Their final tournament together was the Beat Invitational: Season 2 which they finished in third place.

It was announced on 28 October 2017 that xQc would be joining Dallas Fuel as their ninth player, and he played several matches before it was revealed that he had made homophobic remarks towards Austin ‘Muma’ Wilmot, a rival playing for the Houston Outlaws, during one of his Twitch streams, and was thus fined $2,000 and suspended for several matches.

The suspension was later extended, but xQc eventually returned and led Dallas Fuel to victory against the Los Angeles Gladiators. Not long afterwards, he was suspended once again for social media violations, and then announced that he was going to retire and focus solely on being a Twitch streamer. However, xQc changed his mind, and joined the team GOATS, then moved to Gladiators Legion on 2 February 2019, but left in late 2019.

He has also entered international tournaments with Team Canada, and was in 2017 named the tournament’s Most Valuable Player (MVP), however, Team Canada still lost in the finals against South Korea, the defending champion – in 2018, the team reached the quarterfinals, while they failed to pass the group stage in July 2019.

Twitch and YouTube

In 2019, xQc became a full-time streamer, and today usually spends around nine hours live-streaming every day – he was the 29th most followed streamer in October 2019, and is today the owner of one of the most subscribed to channels, with around 35,000 monthly subscribers. XQc still plays “Overwatch” but today seems more focused on testing new Steam releases, streaming while attending various gaming events such as BlizzCon and TwitchCon to show his fans how the events look. The highest number of xQc’s all-time peak viewers is today 222,720, while his record for total unique viewers in a single stream is 1,971,819 people set on 9 April 2020.

He has also become interested in chess, and occasionally streams while playing it. He began playing chess in March 2020 and, Grandmaster Hikaru Nakamura who is also a Twitch streamer decided to teach him – many streamers have since joined Chess.com, and the website then created a special chess tournament for streamers, at which xQc lost in the semi-finals.

He is also running his YouTube channel “xQcOW”, which he launched on 8 March 2015, and is today subscribed to by around 1.25 million people, and numbers around 525 million views of all xQc’s videos combined. He mostly uploads highlights of his Twitch streams, while his most popular video “xQc REACTS TO DAILY DOSE OF INTERNET | Episode 1 | xQcOW” has been watched around 3.5 million times since 19 January 2019.

Bans and suspensions

XQc was suspended twice from “Overwatch” for violating Blizzard’s terms of usage, and has been permanently banned from playing “League of Legends” – he is one of 0.006 percent of the game’s players who are considered ‘negative enough to be permanently banned’.

He was banned from Twitch (for three days) for the first time on 31 July 2019, when he streamed a video featuring pornographic scenes – he was banned for three days once again on 29 February 2020 after showing nudity in the video game “Connect Four”. XQc was banned for a day on 12 June 2020 for watching two gorillas have sex, and on 18 November 2020 he was banned for a week after stream sniping while playing “Fall Guys” at the Twitch Rivals event – stream sniping is when a person watches someone livestreaming while playing the same game as them, so that they could know their location and take them down in the game. XQc was also banned for half a year from Twitch Rivals for this.

Love life and relationships

XQc is quite secretive when it comes to his relationships, and is keeping the details of the girls he might have dated hidden from the public’s attention.

However, there are rumors circulating the internet, mostly on Reddit.com, that he is currently in a relationship with a fellow Twitch streamer who has occasionally appeared in his streams when they play the video game “Fortnite” together. The girl in question is one of xQc’s best friends, but there are many who believe that she is also his girlfriend, and that they have been dating for over a year now – however, neither of the two have commented on this.

There are also rumors claiming that xQc is gay but these haven’t been confirmed either.

As of December 2020, xQc appears to be single, hasn’t married and doesn’t have children.

Hobbies and other interests

XQc is physically active, as he has several training sessions at the gym each week, however, as he is quite skinny, his body doesn’t appear as very muscular.

He became interested in travelling when he competed abroad for the first time, and has since travelled to various European countries as well as Asian, for both work and pleasure – his dream travel destination is Tokyo in Japan.

XQc is a big lover of animals, with dogs being his favorites – he has a pet dog and a pet cat which can be seen featured in some of his Instagram pictures.

He occasionally watches movies, and his favorite actor is Johnny Depp while a couple of his favorite films are the franchise “The Pirates of the Caribbean”, “Edward Scissorhands” and “Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street”.

How rich is he and what is his salary?

XQc is 25 years old. He has short brown hair which he dyes blonde, and his eyes are brown. He is 6ft 2ins (1.88m) tall and weighs around 170lbs (78kgs).

As of December 2020, his net worth has been estimated at over $2 million.
