Kimberley Sustad was born in Ottawa, Ontario Canada, on 27 May but she has kept the year of her birth hidden from the media’s attention – her zodiac sign is Gemini and she holds Canadian nationality. She is an actress who might be known best for her portrayal of the supporting character Joanne Yates in the 2018 science fiction mystery series “Travelers”, created by Brad Wright and which starred Eric McCormack, MacKenzie Porter and Nesta Cooper – it follows several people who can travel back in time and are trying to change how people are behaving in the 21st century. It won four awards and was nominated for 16 others.
Childhood and education
Kimberly spent only the first couple of years of her life in Ottawa, as her family then moved to Winnipeg, Manitoba after her father was offered a job there – Kimberly has several siblings but prefers to keep them away from the media’s attention.
She grew up being interested in art, and started painting and going to galleries while stile attending elementary school. It was later in high school that she became interested in acting, and started appearing in school plays as well as watching people perform at a local theatre. She eventually started practicing acting at the same theatre, and upon matriculating, Kimberly enrolled at the Trinity Western University from which she graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in acting.
Roles in movies
Kimberly made her debut film appearance in 2009 when cast to appear in the short drama “Live Henry Live”, and the following years saw her play supporting characters in movies “Thunderballs”, “A Bride for Christmas” and “Supper Buddies”.
In 2013, Kimberly played Bethany in the drama “Baby Sellers” written by Suzette Couture, directed by Nick Willing and which starred Jennifer Finnigan, Kirstie Alley and Arjun Gupta – it’s a story about crimes involving infant trafficking, and won one award while it was nominated for 11 others. The same year saw her play Christie in the critically acclaimed drama “Down River”, and in 2014 she appeared as Sandy (uncredited) in the thriller comedy “A Bit of Bad Luck”, which received mixed reviews.
She gained recognition when she portrayed Marilee White, one of the lead characters in the romantic comedy “The Nine Lives of Christmas”, which also starred Brandon Routh and Stephanie Bennett, and is about a man who adopts a cat and then meets the love of his life – because Kimberly is allergic to cats and dogs, she had to take anti-allergy medication while shooting for the film.
In 2016, Kimberly played McKenna in the romantic comedy “All Things Valentine”, as well as Isabel in the drama “Hearts of Christmas” which starred Emilie Ullerup, Kristoffer Polaha and Sharon Lawrence. In 2017 she portrayed Delia in the romantic comedy “Walking the Dog”. Three of her most recent roles in movies have been in the 2018 romantic drama “A Godwink Christmas” in which she starred as Paula Mayer, the 2019 romantic drama “Sense, Sensibility & Snowmen” in which she portrayed Marianne Dashwood, one of the lead characters, and the 2020 romantic comedy “Wedding Every Weekend” in which she once again played the main role.
Most recently, Kimberly has been cast to play Annie Park in the upcoming movie “Christmas by Starlight”.
Roles in TV series
She made her debut TV series appearance in 2012, when cast to play Charlotte in the episode “Clarence Montgomery” of the critically acclaimed action crime drama “Alcatraz”, created by Steven Lilien and Elizabeth Sarnoff, and which starred Sarah Jones, Jorge Garcia and Jonny Coyne – the story follows the Alcatraz prisoners who disappeared in 1963, and then reappeared in today’s world. The series won two awards and was nominated for six others.
Kimberly went on to appear in three episodes of the action adventure drama “Primeval: New World”, and the following years saw her appear in single episodes of many series, such as the mystery crime drama “Motive”, the action science fiction thriller “Continuum”, and the mystery comedy drama “Signed, Sealed, Delivered”.
She then appeared as Madeline Templeton in five episodes of the fantasy action adventure “Spooksville” created by Dan Angel and Billy Brown, and which starred Keean Johnson, Katie Douglas and Nick Purcha – it’s about a teenager who learns that he might be the chosen one to end the fight between good and evil. Kimberly then appeared in two series – “Witches of East End” and “The Gourmet Detective” – before being invited to play Kelly Hadler, one of the lead characters in the drama “The Romeo Section”, which is about lies, murder and corruption, and won seven awards and was nominated for 14 others.
A few of her following roles were in the 2017 mini-series “The Real Stephen Blatt”, the 2018 mini-series “Emma Fielding Mysteries”, and the 2018 family drama “Chesapeake Shores”.
2019 saw Kimberly play the supporting character Caitlyn Hartley in the historical drama “Unspeakable”, and three more of her most recent roles in TV series have been in the mini-series “Morning Show Mysteries” and the romantic comedy drama “You Me Her” both in 2019, and the 2020 fantasy horror drama “Supernatural’’.

In 2019, Kimberly was nominated for a Leo Award for Best Supporting Performance by a Female in a Dramatic Series for “Unspeakable”, and the same year saw her nominated for another Leo Award for Best Lead Performance By a Female in a Television Movie for “A Godwink Christmas”.
Love life and twins
Kimberly is quite a secretive woman as she prefers to keep her personal matters to herself, however, it is known that she is married to Scot Sustad who is a businessman, and currently working as the CEO of The Arrival Store.
The two met while attending Trinity Western University and started dating while remaining focused on their studies. They dated for several years before exchanging vows in mid-2004 – at first, the two decided not to have children but to focus on their careers, until 13 years later in 2017 when Kimberly gave birth to their twin daughters, Ari and Vienna. Kimberly and Scot also have another daughter whose birthdate isn’t known.
Kimberly hasn’t talked about any other men she might have dated before meeting Scot, so as of November 2020, she is married and has three daughters.
Hobbies and other interests
Kimberly is keen on travelling, and has been to many Canadian cities while her acting career has taken her to several US states such as New York, Texas and Arizona, and a couple of European countries including England and France.
She spends most of her free time with her friends and family, and there are many pictures taken during family dinners which Kimberly has uploaded onto her Instagram account.
Kimberly loves animals but she learned at a very early age that she was allergic, and was depressed about it for nearly a year before making peace with the fact that she can’t have a pet.
She has her own favorite actors and actresses, some of whom are Matt Damon, Johnny Depp and Natalie Portman, and a few of her favorite movies are “Good Will Hunting”, the franchise “The Pirates of the Caribbean”, and “Leon: The Professional”.
