When she was 19 and in her freshmen year of college, she earned the title of Miss New York, and at that moment she was the youngest woman ever to win that title.
Acting Career

During this time she made guest appearance in shows such as “Arli$$”, “The Drew Carey Show” and “CSI”, and had a recurring role in “Rosewell”, playing Amy DeLuca, mother of Majandra Delfino’s character Maria DeLuca. She was also a regular on WB’s show “Like Family”, as Maddie Hudson.
Later on, she appeared in the ABC sitcom “The Job”, created by Denis Leary who also starred in it. She played the character of Detective Jan Fendrich, and remained in the show until it ended in 2002. After that, she made a two-season appearance in another Denis Leary show, “Rescue Me”, playing a firefighter from New York City Fire Department, Laura Miles. However, she soon left to star in another show, CBS crime series “Numb3rs” as Megan Reeves, a skilled FBI agent.
This role came as a replacement for a character that was kicked from the show before the first season ended, Terry Lake. She kept the role from 2005 until 2008, when she declined to renew her contract after the fourth season ended, instead joining the cast of “Californication” in 2009, and remaining in the series for 10 whole episodes.

One time, when asked about her career paths, she said: ‘I did a Broadway show and no one cared; I got a job talking about sex on TV and everyone wanted a meeting.’ Farr is the Ambassador of the Mineseeker Foundation, and she is especially vocal about their “Sole of Africa” campaign, which is dedicated to locating and removing landmines that still exist all over the African continent.
