The Lawsuit

The lawsuit was dismissed on 6th August 2018 based on the statute of limitations, as Oliver filed the lawsuit 20 years after the act, when there was no more any legal basis. Luner’s team of lawyers claimed that the report was false, and that Oliver was attempting extortion, pointing the fact that he already had a history of dropped lawsuits. The appeal was filed on 2nd February 2019 and it was claimed that, in the previous decade, Oliver has filed no less than 27 federal lawsuits against various celebrities. Oliver, who was once even a mayoral candidate for a city in Georgia, US, was sentenced to 20 years in prison in October 2019.
