Early life and education
Rebecca was raised an only child in San Antonio by her mother who worked as a nurse at a local hospital, and her father who taught English at a high school. Rebecca grew up watching a lot of TV with her mother, and this is how she became interested in dancing – her mother enrolled her at a dancing school when she was nine, and she went on to train for the next nine years.

Rebecca was also a member of her high school’s dancing crew, and to stay in shape she played various sports, and often went running in a nearby park.
After matriculation in 1991, she didn’t to enroll at a college, but focused on her dancing career.
Career as a dancer
Rebecca danced at various events, and appeared on TV on multiple occasions before she joined the dance troupe Nitro Girls in October 1997, and thus became part of WCW – she chose ‘Whisper’ as her stage name, which is connected to her special gesture move: putting a finger on her lips to silence the crowd. She was part of WCW for only two years, as she decided to leave after marrying Shawn Michaels.
Love life and marriage with Shawn Michaels
In Shawn’s autobiographical book, he wrote how it was a girl working at Gold Gym who introduced him to Rebecca, while many other sources have wrongly claimed that it was the ex-wrestler Kevin Scott Nash who introduced the two. After around two years of dating, Rebecca and Shawn married in a small ceremony attended by only the two of them and an Elvis Presley impersonator, on 31 March 1999. Rebecca is a devoted Reborn Christian who is a member of the Methodist Church, and she persuaded Shawn to become religious as well. The married couple welcomed their son Cameron Cade Hickenbottom on 5 January 2000, and their daughter Cheyenne Michelle Hickenbottom followed on 19 August 2004.

Rebecca in not a big fan of the social media networks, and so isn’t active on Instagram, as she prefers not to share pictures of her personal life. She is a lover of animals and has a pet dog, while her favorite ‘animals’ are turtles.

Michael Shawn Hickenbottom was born in Chandler, Arizona USA, on 22 July 1965 – his zodiac sign is Cancer and he holds American nationality.
He is a retired professional wrestler, an actor and a TV presenter, still regarded as one of the best professional wrestlers in the history of wrestling.
Shawn was raised alongside his three older siblings Shari, Scott and Randy, by their mother and father, both of whom were in the military – as Shawn’s father was stationed in England when Shawn was young, the family lived there for two years. He was 12 years old when he decided he wanted to become a wrestler, and he first tried wrestling at his high school’s talent show. He was physically very active while attending Randolph High School, as he played football as a stand-out linebacker, and eventually became the school team’s captain.
He matriculated in 1983, and then enrolled at Southwest Texas State University in San Marcos, but dropped out after just two months to pursue a career as a wrestler.
He started training in 1984 under professional Mexican wrestler Jose Lothario, and he fought his first battle on 16 October 1984, which he lost. He started competing in the World Class Championship Wrestling (WCCW) in January 1985, and by the end of the year had started wrestling for Texas All-Star Wrestling. He went national in 1986 when he competed in the American Wrestling Association (AWA), winning a fight against Buddhakhan. In 1987, Shawn started fighting in the World Wrestling Federation (WWF) but was fired after two weeks after a bar fight.
In 1988, he began competing in the World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE), eventually deciding to retire ten years later due to a back injury – he returned in 2000 to fight at his own professional wrestling training school the Texas Wrestling Academy. Shawn’s most recent role has been in 2019, in the drama film “90 Feet From Home”, in which he portrayed James Devine.
In 1987, Shawn became addicted to several substances he was using, and this led to him losing many of his friends. He contemplated suicide at around this time, but eventually started seeing a psychologist – as Rebecca has stated ‘There was something in him that he despised, and he was self-destructing’.
