Charley Rose Jackson was born in Columbus, Indiana USA, on 29 November 1986 – her zodiac sign is Sagittarius and she holds American nationality. She is an actress and a singer, who might be known best for her portrayal of Zoey in the critically acclaimed romantic musical drama series “Nashville” created by Callie Khouri and which starred Hayden Panettiere, Clare Bowen and Charles Esten. It follows the lives of music stars living in Nashville, Tennessee, and the series won three awards and was nominated for 40 others, including three Golden Globes during its airing from 2012 to 2018.
Childhood and education
Chaley was raised alongside her brother Charles E. Jackson in Columbus, by their father Charles ‘Chuck’ Jackson who was an artist, and their mother Cheryl Owsley Jackson who was a reporter – Chaley’s parents divorced after having been together for over 20 years.
She studied at Central Middle School at which she was physically very active, as she ran track for the school’s team while she was also a gymnast and a cheerleader. Chaley was the first black home-coming queen of Central Middle School. Upon matriculation in 2004, she enrolled at Indiana University, before moving to study at a college in New York City, but then decided to quit and moved to Los Angeles to work on her career.
Roles in TV series
Chaley made her debut TV series appearance in 2013, when cast to play a Barista in the episode “Charlie and His New Friend with Benefits” of the romantic comedy “Anger Management”, created by Bruce Helford, and which starred Charlie Sheen, Shawnee Smith and Noureen DeWulf – it’s about a former baseball player who is now working as an anger management therapist holding sessions at his home. The series was nominated for two awards.
She went on to appear in the 2015 episode “The Root of Evil” of the science fiction crime drama “Stitchers”, and in the same year portrayed Tarcher Bishop in all eight episodes of the horror comedy “Filthy Preppy Teen$”, created by Curtis Gwinn, Paul Scheer and Jonathan Stern, and which starred Hannah Kasulka, Max Carver and Melise – it follows two teenagers who return home after having been missing for three months.
The year 2018 saw Chaley appear in the episodes “La Familia” and “Third Year” of the drama “Code Black”, which was quite popular in the USA as it won three awards and was nominated for seven others.
Her most recent role in a TV series has been in the 2020 episode “Detective Amenadiel” of the fantasy crime drama “Lucifer”, which stars Tom Ellis, Lauren German and Kevin Alejandro, and has been nominated for 10 awards.
Roles in movies
Chaley made her debut movie appearance in 2013, when cast to play Jules in the short comedy film “Channing”, written by Tobi Rodriguez who also starred in the movie, and which is about the lives of casting directors.
She went on to appear in the 2013 thriller “36 Saints” but which received poor reviews, the 2018 drama “Dinner for Two” written and directed by Orlando Bishop, and the 2019 short comedy “The Chase”, in which she starred as Sasha. The same year saw her play Jade, the lead character in the romantic crime drama “Holiday Heist” written by Angela Burt-Murray, directed by Roger M. Bobb and which also starred Tobias Truvillion and Phillip Edward Van Lear – it’s about a man who, after being released from jail, is considering whether to start a new life with a woman he has fallen in love with, or return to a life of crime.
Chaley went on to portray another lead character, Averie Davis in the romantic drama “A Christmas Duet”, and two of her most recent roles in movies have been in the 2020 romantic drama “My Best Friend’s Bouquet” in which she starred alongside Nathan White and Rebecca Olson, and the 2020 horror “Kappa Kappa Die” in which she portrayed Tulsi.
Chaley has recently been cast to appear in the upcoming short science fiction film “Void”, written and directed by Jon Munoz.
Career as a singer
In 2013, Chaley sang two songs – “Wayfaring Stranger” and “Come See About Me” – in the second season of “Nashville”, and sang three more songs for the second season in the following year, entitled “Hennessee”, “I Ain’t Leavin’ Without Your Love” and “Carry You Home” The same year heard her sing “Celebrate Me Home” and “Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas” for “Christmas with Nashville”. Chaley also sang “The Most Beautiful Girl In The World” for the series’ third season, and “Take My Hand, Precious Lord” for its fourth season.

Love life. Is she married?
Chaley is very secretive when it comes to her love life, and hasn’t talked about any men she might have dated, however, it is known that she was once in a relationship with Sam Christian Palladio Scott, an actor who starred as Gunnar Scott in the series “Nashville” – the two met on the set and started dating around a month later. Chaley and Sam were together for several months before splitting ways for unknown reasons, while there are rumors circulating the internet that he was cheating on Chaley which led to the split.
There are rumors claiming that she was once in a long-term relationship with her college sweetheart, and that the two even lived together for a year before splitting ways. As of November 2020, she is single, hasn’t married and doesn’t have children.
Hobbies and other interests
Chaley is keen on dressing-up, and hasn’t so far missed a single opportunity to paint her face for Halloween and attend a Halloween party – she is hoping to one day go with her friends to a cosplay event.
Travelling is one of her main hobbies, and her acting career has taken her to several US states such as Texas, Arizona and North Carolina, and Chaley has also been to several European countries such as England and France – she mostly enjoys visiting attractive natural locations, and avoids staying in overcrowded cities.
