Who is Cody Christian?
Cody Allen Christian was born in Portland, Maine USA, on 15 April 1995 – his zodiac sign is Aries and he holds American nationality. Cody is an actor and a rapper who is perhaps best known for his portrayal of Asher Adams in the drama sports series “All American”, created by April Blair and which stars Daniel Ezra, Samantha Logan and Michael Evans Behling – the series has been airing since 2018, and follows a high school football player who moves from South Central to Beverly Hills High School after being recruited by them. It has won one award and been nominated for three others.
Childhood and education
Cody was raised as an only child in Indiana by his Native American mother who belongs to the Penobscot indigenous people – because Cody hasn’t talked about his father, it’s believed that his parents are divorced.
He attended an elementary school in Indiana at which he started playing football, and became interested in acting. After he learned about an audition for a commercial in Los Angeles, he decided to move there at the age of nine and was supported by his mother. Cody attended a local high school at which he continued to play football, and was also interested in soccer, basketball and playing the guitar.
After he matriculated in 2013, he decided not to enroll at a college but to focus on his acting career.
Roles in movies
Cody had already made his debut film appearance, when in 2006 he starred as Young Tommy Kuglar in the short comedy “The Profound Mysteries of Tommy Kuglar”, also starring Jerry Hoffman and Randi Langdon, but which failed to attract much attention. In the same year he portrayed The Kid in the short “Corndog of Tolerance”, written and directed by Reese Golchin who also starred in the film.
The year 2009 saw Cody portray Boy Canter in the critically acclaimed action science fiction thriller film “Surrogates”, which starred Bruce Willis and Radha Mitchell, and in 2011 he played Young Danny Greene in the biographical crime drama “Kill the Irishman”. written and directed by Jonathan Hensleigh and which starred Ray Stevenson and Christopher Walken – the film’s about an Irish thug who is working for the mafia in Cleveland in the ‘70s. In 2012, Cody was invited to play the supporting character Kyle in the drama “Beautiful People”, and in 2013, he was Peter in the comedy science fiction film “The Starving Games”.
Three of Cody’s most recent roles in movies have been in the 2015 drama “Killing Animals” which starred Zachary Gordon, the action thriller “Submerged” in which he starred alongside Jonathan Bennett and Talulah Riley in 2016, and in 2018 the action comedy crime film “Assassination Nation” which was written and directed by Sam Levinson.
Cody has recently finished shooting for the upcoming drama “Notorious Nick”, while he has also just been cast to star in the upcoming action thriller “Ambush”.
Roles in TV series
Cody made his debut TV series appearance in 2007, when cast to portray Adam in the comedy drama “State of Mind”, and in the same year guest starred as Xander Tucker in the episode “Gracie’s Bully” of the comedy series “Back to You”.
The following years saw him appear only in single episodes of many series, such as the drama fantasy mystery “True Blood” in 2008, the critically acclaimed romantic drama “Grey’s Anatomy” in 2010 and the action comedy family series “Lab Rats” in 2012 – in the same year, Cody guest starred as Greg Lux in the episode “Home Invasion” of the comedy crime drama “Body of Proof”. He gained recognition in 2013 after being cast as Flint Forster in three episodes of the short action adventure series “Supah Ninjas”, which starred Ryan Potter, Carlos Knight and Gracie Dzienny, and is about three teenagers who become ninjas after being taught how to fight by one’s grandfather – the series won two awards including a Primetime Emmy, and was nominated for three others.
From 2010 to 2015, Cody played Mike Montgomery, one of the lead characters in the romantic drama “Pretty Little Liars”, which starred Troian Bellisario and Ashley Benson and was a hit in the US as it won 45 awards and was nominated for 46 others. One of Cody’s most recent roles in TV series has been in the action fantasy drama “Teen Wolf”, about a boy who becomes a werewolf after being beaten by one – the series won 23 awards and was nominated for 39 others during its airing from 2011 to 2017, while Cody was nominated for a Teen Choice Award for Choice Summer TV Actor.
Cody has also voiced the character Cloud Strife in the 2020 action role-playing game “Final Fantasy VII Remake”.
Career as a rapper
Cody released his debut extended play (EP) in 2018 entitled “Cody West Christian”, and two of the featured songs which attracted most attention were “Awake” and “All I Have Is Christ”. Since then, he has released several singles, such as “Keep Quiet”, “Vacation” and “Blessed”, and is currently working on his second EP.
Love life and dating
Cody prefers to keep the details of his love life to himself, but it’s known that in 2016 he was in a relationship with the American actress Talia-Lynn Prairie, who is known for her roles in the adventure comedy film “The Cat in the Hat” and the musical film “Burlesque”. They dated for nearly a year before they split for unknown reasons, but rumor has it that Talia fell in love with someone else, the same man whom she later married.
Cody is currently in a relationship with the American model Alex Swift – both of them have uploaded numerous pictures featuring themslves together onto their Instagram accounts – they have been together for nearly three years now.
As of October 2020, Cody is in a relationship, hasn’t married and doesn’t have children.
Hobbies and other interests
Cody is physically very active as he has several training sessions at the gym each week, thus his muscular figure, and he is also following a strict diet. Cody also plays football, tennis and meditates.
Because his mother fought breast cancer and survived, Cody is today a philanthropist who has donated and helped raise money for research into breast cancer.
He is a lover of animals and volunteered at an animal shelter many times during his teenage years.
Cody likes to travel, and his acting career has taken him to several US states as well as to several European countries – his dream travel destination is Rome in Italy.
Cody has his own favorite actors and actresses, some of whom are Nicolas Cage, Bruce Willis and Amanda Seyfried, and a few of his favorite movies are “Gone in 60 Seconds”, “Pulp Fiction” and “Dear John”.
