Who is Ruby Rose Turner?
Ruby Rose Turner was born in Los Angeles, California USA, on 16 October 2005 – her zodiac sign is Libra and she holds American nationality. She is an actress and dancer, who is perhaps best known for her portrayal of the lead character Cami in the adventure comedy series “Coop and Cami Ask the World”, which was created by Boyce Bugliari and Jamie McLaughlin, and also stars Dakota Lotus and Olivia Sanabia. The series has been airing since 2018 and follows two teenage siblings who are deciding what to do in life based on one of their internet channels “Would You Wrather?”
Early life, sister and education
Ruby was raised alongside her sister Nadia (also a dancer) and brothers Alfie and Alec by their father Andrew who is a car salesman, and their mother Natalie who is teaching history at a local high school.
Ruby became interested in acting at a very early age, as she and her siblings often watched TV together, and after noticing her interest, Ruby’s mother enrolled her at an acting school which eventually led to Ruby launching her career at the age of seven. She became a member of her elementary school’s drama club, and appeared in several of the plays performed at the school.
Ruby enrolled at a high school in 2019, and is currently focusing on her acting career as well – it doesn’t appear that she is planning on enrolling at college after (and if) she matriculates in 2023.
Career as an actress
Ruby made her debut film appearance (uncredited) in 2014, when cast to portray Orphan #8 in the family comedy “Annie” written and directed by Will Gluck, and which starred Jamie Foxx, Quvenzhane Wallis and Cameron Diaz. It’s about a foster kid living with her evil foster mother, who falls for a business tycoon Will Stacks – the film won three awards and was nominated for 15 others, including two Golden Globes.
The year 2016 saw Ruby make her debut TV series appearance, as she portrayed The Cool Kid in the episode “Twindependence” of the comedy “Black-ish”, and in the same year, she starred as Holly in the short horror movie “Burlap”, written and directed by Justin Denton, and which also starred Levi Borress and James Michael Cowan. In 2017, Ruby played Phyllis Gladstone in the episodes “Maybe Baby” and “Fuller Thanksgiving” of the family comedy series “Fuller House”, and in 2018 was cast to portray lead characters in two short musicals – “Disney Channel Stars: Legendary”, and “Ruby Rock”.
Ruby’s latest appearance has been in the 2019 comedy series “Ruth & Ruby Ultimate Sleepover”, in which she starred alongside Ruth Righi.

Ruby has also been a guest in about 1 talk-shows, and appeared in a couple of documentaries.
In 2014, she was a dancer in the music game show “Dancing with the Stars”, and the following year saw her appear in the episode “Ruby and Major” of the comedy talk-show “Kid Advice”, and later that year served as the interviewer in the episode “Why Do I Take My Shoes Off at the Airport” of the comedy talk-show “Questions My Parents Won’t Answer”. She appeared in a single episode of the family series “Hyperlinked” in 2017, and was then invited to appear in the reality comedy series “Would You Wrather Challenges”, the documentary special “Disney Parks Presents a 25 Days of Christmas Holiday Party”, and the short talk-show “Red Carpet Report”.
She starred in her own reality mini-series “Ruby’s Gems” in 2019, and then appeared in two episodes of the music competition show “American Idol”, and a single episode of the talk-show “Just Roll with It”. Two of her most recent appearances have been in the 2019 TV specials “Disney Hall of Villains” and “Disney Channel Holiday Party @ Walt Disney World”.
Love life and boyfriend
Ruby is very secretive when it comes to her love life, and hasn’t talked about any boys she might have dated. However, there are rumors circulating the internet about an alleged relationship with Dakota Lotus, an American actor and musician.
According to these rumors, Dakota has been Ruby’s boyfriend since they met on the set of “Coop and Cami Ask the World”, but many of their fans believe that they are only good friends, even though the two have been seen spending time together on various occasions away from the series’ set. Dakota is also known for his roles in the 2019 short music video “Love Is The Only River”, and the 2020 film “Lonely”.
As Ruby hasn’t commented on the rumors, she is single as of October 2020.
Hobbies and other interests
Ruby enjoys spending her free time in nature such as local parks, and is a fan of flowers and gardens – she hopes that, in the future, she will have her own garden which she will take care of all by herself.
She is interested in music, and can sing, play the guitar and the piano, while a few of her favorite musicians are Frank Sinatra, Lady Gaga and Beyonce.
She likes summer as she prefers hot weather over cold, and is keen on playing beach soccer and swimming in the ocean.
Ruby is steadily becoming a traveler, as she has been to several US states for both work and pleasure, and has had an opportunity to visit Paris in France with her family.
She likes to watch movies, and a few of her favorite actors and actresses are Will Smith, Tom Hanks and Angelina Jolie, and a couple of her favorite movies are “I Am Legend”, “Sleepless in Seattle” and “Maleficent, Mistress of Evil”.
