Steven Chadwick McQueen was born in Los Angeles, California USA on 13 July 1988 – his zodiac sign is Cancer and he holds American nationality. He is an actor and a model, who is perhaps best known for his portrayal of Jeremy Gilbert in the drama fantasy horror series “The Vampire Diaries”, which aired from 2009 to 2017, and was created by Julie Plec and Kevin Williamson. The series starred Nina Dobrev, Paul Wesley and Ian Somerhalder, and follows the lives of people living in the city Mystic Falls in Virginia, the home of many vampires and other mythical creatures. The series was a hit in the US as it won 36 awards and was nominated for 66 others – for his performance, Steven was nominated for a Youth Rock Award for Rockin TV Actor in 2011 as well as for a Teen Choice Award for Scene Stealer Male in 2013.
Early life and education
Steven was raised in Los Angeles by his father Chad McQueen who is a film producer and actor, and his mother Stacia Robitaille who is a housewife – his paternal grandparents are the famous Filipino-American actress Neile Adams and the late American actor Steve McQueen. Enrique Iglesias, the famous singer, is Steven’s second cousin.
Steven’s parents divorced when he was in his early teens, and he now has a half-brother and a half-sister from his father’s second marriage, and another half-brother from his mother’s marriage with Luc Robitaille, who is a retired professional ice hockey player.
Steven became interested in acting at a very early age as he was motivated by his father, and after hearing numerous stories about his grandfather’s acting career, he decided to become an actor himself.
He started attending an acting school at the age of 14, and after he matriculated in 2006, Steven chose to focus on his career rather than to pursue a college degree.
Roles in TV series
Steven made his debut TV series appearance in 2005, when he played Jordan Peters in the episode “Blood of the Children” of the science fiction action drama “Threshold”, which was created by Bragi F. Schut and starred Carla Gugino, Brian Van Holt and Brent Spiner. The story follows a group of experts hired by the US Navy after a strange object was seen near one of their ships located in the Atlantic Ocean – the series received mostly positive reviews.
He gained recognition in 2006, when he starred as Kyle Hunter in seven episodes of the drama “Everwood”, which starred Treat Williams and Gregory Smith and is about a brain surgeon who, after the death of his wife, sends his two kids to live in Everwood in Colorado – the series was a hit as it won three awards and was nominated for 35 others, including two Primetime Emmys.
The following years saw Steven appear in single episodes of many series, such as the episode “Atomic No. 33” of the critically acclaimed crime drama mystery “Numb3rs” and the episode “True/False” of the crime drama “Without a Trace” both in 2008, and the episode “Gone Baby Gone” of the action crime drama “CSI: Miami” in 2009.
His following role in a TV series came seven years later when he appeared as Jimmy Borelli in three episodes of the action crime drama “Chicago P. D.” which stars Jason Beghe, Jesse Lee Soffer and Patrick John Flueger, and which follows the Intelligence Unit and the uniformed cops working in the Chicago Police Department – the series has been airing since 2014, and has won two awards and been nominated for six others. Steven reprised his role as Jimmy Borelli in 2016, appearing in 25 episodes of the action drama “Chicago Fire” which follows the lives of firefighters working in Chicago, Illinois – it has been airing since 2015 and has won four awards while it has been nominated for 22 others.

Two of Steven’s most recent appearances in TV series have been as Jeremy Gilbert in the2018 episode “We’re Being Punked, Pedro” of the adventure drama fantasy “Legacies”, and the episode “Joseph Vittori” of the documentary war series “Medal of Honor” in which he played Joseph, also in 2018.
Roles in movies
Steven made his debut film appearance in 2006 when he played The Kid, one of the lead characters in the short drama “Club Soda” written and directed by Paul Carafotes, which also starred John Barillaro and Wedil David – the movie follows a young man who wants to become an actor, and gets help from his spiritual guide after making many bad life choices. For his performance, Steven was rewarded with a Beverly Hills Film Festival Award for Best Male Performance.
In 2008, he portrayed Derek Beaugard in the comedy family adventure film “Minutemen”, which is about three teenagers who build a 10-minute time machine, to spare them and their friends endless humiliation – the film was nominated for five awards. The year 2010 saw Steven portray Jake Forester in the comedy horror “Piranha 3D”, starring Elisabeth Shue, Jerry O’Connell and Richard Dreyfuss, and which won two awards and was nominated for 12 others.
Three of his most recent roles in movies have been in the 2018 short science fiction film “The Take Off” in which he portrayed J. J. Cullings, the drama “Home by Spring” in which he starred alongside Poppy Drayton and Mary-Margaret Humes also in 2018, and the western “The Warrant” which was released in 2020, but which received mostly poor reviews.

In the following year, Steven appeared in two short videos “Don’t Scream, Just Swim: Behind-the-Scenes of ‘Piranha 3D’” and “The Perfect Love Triangle: Vampires, Werewolves, Witches”, and in 2014, he was invited to star in a documentary about himself entitled “I Am Steven McQueen”.

Steven is very open when it comes to his love life – he’s been in seven relationships (that the public knows about) since the launch of his acting career.
In 2007, he began dating the American actress and singer Chelsea Kane, who might best be known for her portrayal of Stella Malone in Disney’s comedy series “Jonas”. The two dated for two years before separating in mid-2009 – rumor has it that Steven fell in love with Trisha Cummings while dating Chelsea, as he started going out with her not long after his and Chelsea’s split. Trisha is a TV host and an actress known for her role in the series “Welcome to My World”. They dated for around a year, until in July 2010, Steven began dating Candice King, an American actress and singer who has been married to Joe King since 2014 and has given birth to three of their children – Candice and Steven were together only for several months.
In 2011, Steven started dating Hillary Harley, whom he met on the set of “The Vampire Diaries”, and they were together for over two years before splitting.
In late 2013, he started seeing Dylan Penn, an American model and actress who is the daughter of the famous actor Sean Penn, but in 2014 Steven broke-up with Dylan, and began going out with Olivia Pickren, who is an actress and a model signed to Wilhelmina Modelling Agency – they dated for two years before separating in mid-2016.
In 2017, Steven started dating Allie Silva, a model and an actress and who holds a college degree in sociology. The two announced in January 2018 that they had become engaged, but on 7 May 2018, it was revealed that the engagement had been called off – no reasons were given. It appears that Steven has been single since then, so as of October 2020, he doesn’t have a wife, girlfriend or any children.
Hobbies and other interests
Steven is physically very active, as he has to stay fit for his roles and has four to five training sessions at the gym each week, while he is also following a special diet, which means that he avoids fast food and doesn’t eat anything with sugar (unless included in his weekly cheat meal).
He began practicing martial arts at a very early age and is still practicing Taekwondo today – he has also been practicing kickboxing for many years now. Steven likes to play ice hockey and go ice skating with his friends while a couple of his favorite sports are soccer, football and tennis.
He is a lover of animals and has a pet dog, while his favorite animals are horses and he’s a rider.
